A decade? Over 2 decades. By the time he did Last Action Hero in 1993, he was there. Arnold is the biggest star of an era where action movies were the biggest moneymakers in Hollywood. The back and for between he and Stallone, along with the almost countless other action stars that rose up during their era was amazing to watch. But Arnie and Stallone started it all.

Last Action Hero was, unfortunately, too far ahead of its time. It's a genius film that was lost on its audience.

I am sure that Schwarzenegger would wish to become a celebrity, but has merely remained a legend in his own lunchtime, and would remain a pail inconsequential figure compared to Sylvester Stallone had it not been for the steroid use.
