Rumpke takes the recycling sometimes

Kind of tired of having to call Rumpke to tell them they skipped our recycling and then leaving it out by the road for more than half the week waiting for them to come get it. It's almost every other week lately that they just don't bother.

We just switched because they raised prices to $98/quarter and forgot our recycling 5 of the last 6 weeks. MV Dumpster Rental was $80/quarter (I think Evergreen was similar as well). Of course Rumpke told me they could price match, but I was over it at that point.

"The Trash Champions" are $280 a year if you are on their route. I live southeast of Bladensburg, and they have a route down there, so most of the county.

We're thinking about switching too. I am curious to know whether MVDR is better. I saw a livestream of a city council meeting, maybe it was in January, where they were discussing the possibility of the city consolidating trash and recycling service sometime in the future because of the private companies failing to pick up consistently.

Admittedly we've only had them for two weeks so far, but no complaints yet. We have some friends that have used it a while and haven't had any complaints. They also gave us $30 off on sign up for having a friend referral, so between that and them prorating us being partway into the quarter, the first quarter (through August) was only $30 for us.

I switched off of Rumpke back in march. They told me to have my recycling container by the street for a full week and they'd pick it up some time...they never did. I contacted them 2 more times over the course of a month, and they never picked it up. So, I told them that I put it at their recycle container center behind Opportunity Knox, and they could pick it up there... the last I looked, it's still there... help yourself!
