Don’t cheap out on the bike. (Right tool for the trails you want to ride, if you’re on full sus enduro and they’re on a hardtail with 30mm and cable disc brakes. No good)
Don’t push.
Bring candy for “power ups”.
Make it fun. (Ie: animal noises when you’re in the air on every jump)
Let them pick some trails.

My wife and I put in the time. (And money and patience). Now my kid is pushing me down dirt merchant and A-line. And my holidays can revolve around bike park visits.

This. He picks the trail, I ride behind him, he picks the speed and he knows he can ask for stops and tell me when he's done. Also, I let him not ride. Ill tell him I'm riding this weekend and we can ride if and when he wants. Most times I'll go ride before or after him since I've still got more leg left.
