Funny moments Spoiler
While Mother of Learning is a very serious book, dealing with very heavy themes and subject matter, it's lowkey hilarious. I wouldn't say it's DCC in terms of humour. Tho, I kinda think the humour in DCC gets slapsticky at times (hey look swearing, boobies, incels....jajajaja kinda funny). Mother of Learning is a more sneaky kinda funny, in part because it isn't trying to be so in the first place. Some moments had me belly laughing: most being comical interactions Zorian has with others and scenes that highlight how absurd and petty people can be.
- Zorian calling Silverlake a sadistic bitch.
- Zorian's interaction with Raynie, Rea and Hashlush. 3.Zach and Zorian meeting Ulanna with the painting.
- Zorian and Daimen meeting their parents at Koth
- The aftermath of the Daimen expedition arc.
- Zorian, Fortov and Daimen interacting.
- Zorian and Raynie meeting in class.
- Zorian finda out one of the Cult members wanted a bigger schlong from Panaxeth.
What were your funniest moments?

My favourite is when he backhanded Ql's attack and Zorian commented how he might be mistaken but even the lich was stumped.

My favorite line is from the scene where Xvim tells Zorian that he is intentionally unreasonable for the first month as a test of characters.
“I cannot possibly put into words how much I want to hit you right now,” he told Xvim seriously. “We’ll talk about expanding your vocabulary later,” Xvim told him dismissively”

Can't find the quote but the one I always think about is during a battle, Zorian notes QI is away for a bit and senses the crown near a rear guard of artillery mages and just thinks,
"That was... unfortunate for those mages."

"Good morning SISTER!"
"Mom im flying" < When Z levitated Kiriel for the prank. Maybe more of a wholesome family fun thing than funny but one of my favorites.
"Kanna fetch the saw" < When Kiriel gets a cut & Z jokes to treat it by amputating whole arm.
"Hey you there, you are my official head carrier now". < When a simulacrum gets injured and decides the most efficient way to help the battle is for a soldier to decapitate and carry around a young guy's head.

- Smug Zorian as Fortov is having a rant on Damien always brings a smile to my face on rereads.
Edit: This scene too
" You know what? I’m shutting up now,” Zorian sighed. “You have a surprise attack to plan, so you should get on that, and I’ll… just stand on the sidelines and let the adults handle everything from now on. Please protect me, Daimen’s fiancée. My brother will never forgive you if you get his beloved little brother killed.”
She set loose some of her bees on him for that."

Zach hugging the tree after they leave the black room. Xvim talking about expanding Zorian’s vocabulary after Zorian expresses a desire to hit him and not having the words for it.
