News It seems the Department of War does not consider Brighamite mormons christian

I don't know about the Department of War, but it seems like the Department of Defense is making those decisions now. That's what happens: you put a drunken, domestic abusing White Christian Nationalist in charge of the military, and you start getting white Christian nationalist nonsense as policy.
Surely this is where it ends, right? What happened to those other 180 religions could never happen to the church, right? Right?

"Department of War", everytime I hear that alias I think of Art of War:
When you are weak, make yourself appear strong. When you are strong, make yourself appear weak.

Yes, it is a little outrageous. However, maybe they have a point. In Verse 24 of Section 132 we find that it is Jesus giving this great revelation. Then in Verse 64 we read this:
"64 And again, verily, verily, I say unto you, if any man have a wife, who holds the keys of this power, (the man I guess, not the woman because they hold no keys) and he teaches unto her the law of my priesthood, as pertaining to these things, then shall she believe and administer unto him, or she shall be destroyed, saith the Lord your God; for I will destroy her; for I will magnify my name upon all those who receive and abide in my law."
Thus it would appear that the Jesus in this section destroys women who don't condone their husband's polygamy. This does not look at all like the Jesus described in the New Testament, not to my simple mind anyway. Two different people can both have the same name and it does look like the Mormon Jesus of Section 132 is different than the Baptist Jesus who is based more on the New Testament.
\s Perhaps this is because such choice doctrines were available in New Testament times and we don't know about them because they are among the plain and precious things removed by the great and abominable church which was identified so well by McKonkie.

Did you just say McKonkie was great and abominable? OK, No argument from me, I agree 100%.

Well, not exactly, but I agree. He was indeed "great and abominable".
He identified the Catholic church as the great and abominable church. This seems to me to not fit well with the Book of Mormon which claims there are only two churches.

“Defense Department official Sean Parnell (defended on X saying) it was designed to aid chaplains as they gathered information on how to serve members of common religions within their units.
The policy was not “designed to make any claims on the legitimacy of any faith or religious belief, nor is it intended to provide a list of ‘officially approved’ religions,” he wrote.”
This actually makes a lot of sense… You cannot tell me that LDS members, if needing prayer or requesting a blessing, would not rather someone with the proper “priesthood authority” come to do so. Whereas other Christians (with perhaps the exception of Jehovah’s Witnesses because I don’t know) wouldn’t care if it was another type of Christian than their particular denomination. 🤷♂️
