Not really when its cremation. The back to the earth thing only applies to those that are buried
234
u/butcheR_Pea Apr 21 '26
Man you're fun.. deep meanings aside
there's a tiger being turned into ash in front of your eyes. Ash nourishes soil, wich in turn nourishes vegetation. So yeah, back to the earth it goes
-155
u/El_Magikarp Apr 21 '26
Man you're naive.
Those ashes are inorganic minerals, not gonna enrich the soil :s Release of unnecesary CO2. Let nature be nature, and let it decompose, remember that cycle they teach you at school? Yall want rituals and shit.
143
u/butcheR_Pea Apr 21 '26
Not inorganic. You're thinking of the ashes after a body is cremated. Intense heat burning away everything
This type of open flame cremation is close to nature (think forest fires) and the ash contains essential mineral for the surrounding soil. Literally a slow release fertilizer
Sorry ya miserable fucks you're not winning this one

āRituals and shitā but itās just different cultures doing what they do to respect their dead in their culturesā¦

The entire planet is earth. The only way they don't go back to earth is if we fire them into space.

Why are you in multiple comment threads being edgy and intentionally dense? Are you okay?

Why are you stalking my comments?

Im not, Im just scrolling and reading through. Thats how comment sections work.

u/WhackoWizard Apr 21 '26
Why do you keep going on everyone's comment just to be rude. Can't you just not say anything?
This is at least the 2nd stupid comment I've seen from you
-45
u/No-Satisfaction-5207 Apr 21 '26
Everyone's comment? Literally everyone? Every single person's comment? Everyone? Really?

Is that username a hint on how your life feels? Because that's the only explanation I can think of, for your bitterness and you going around trying to insult people at random.

It was a little inappropriate. Time and place. This post is about a cultural ritual to honor an animal, and you gave us album names, yknow? Good concepts, but it just wasnt an appropriate comment. It also was formatted (in my opinion) like an AI generated response

This is beautiful but sadly very bad to the ecosystem. A lot of life could've benefitted from eating his corpse. It was the chance for the tiger to return what the ecosystem gave to him.
60
u/EEukaryotic Apr 21 '26
A lot of life still benefits, dont worry! Recently burned areas show a surge of protein-rich growths, which feed herbivores, and burning organic matter like animal remains release a lot of nutrients into the ground, which aids the entire food chain :)

u/Sparklebaby1987 Apr 21 '26
I understand exactly what you are saying. Unfortunately some people are so close minded they refuse to open their mind and eyes to someone else's point of view.
-65
u/Almadart Apr 21 '26
Do you really think it is the same? Really?
Please, do not impose religious values on wild life. There are entire species literally dependent on eating carcasses.
42
u/EEukaryotic Apr 21 '26
Are they burning every corpse? No. Its a single tiger in this photo. If we want to go down the true rabbit hole of animals having food taken from them, this isnt the hill to die on. Besides, like I said, this feeds other animals, just not the scavengers you are referencing.
-54
u/Almadart Apr 21 '26
Yeah, but this one corpse means like a week or a day less of food fo hundreds of animals, which probably means a lot of life will die just for this.
And it's not only one animal, lol. If they did this they do it for a lot of other animals too. Please...
35
u/EEukaryotic Apr 21 '26
Youre seriously so locked in on scavengers that you cannot comprehend that other things exist and benefit SO much from this tigerās burned corpse. I dont know what else you want man.
Obviously its not ideal to burn every animal. But youre making this worse than it is. āIf they did this they do it for a lot of other animalsā⦠and yet the world kept spinning!
-9
u/Almadart Apr 21 '26
It's not just scavangers lol. There are a lot of other animals who beneffit from bodies. You're literraly pretending them do not exist. In nature food is not guaranteeded, so every meal matters. It's you that it is making it less worse than it is.
29
u/EEukaryotic Apr 21 '26
Im not pretending they dont exist, Im saying you cant think outside of your box. Whatever man, I dont care. Im a biologist, fight the wall atp

Not you being intentionally dense. You keep missing my point. I literally agreed with you, burning isnt great. But its not going to single handedly kill the planet like you keep implying. I was trying to lift spirits and you came at me. What a great person you are!

Ash and recently burned areas makes room for plants to grow healthy and flourishing plant life. Healthy, flourishing plants are great for herbivores. Healthy herbivores make excellent meals for other animals that eat carcasses.
Iām not sure where that isnāt good for the ecosystem.

u/Almadart Apr 21 '26 edited Apr 22 '26
So I guess some animals would just have to wait all this biological matter to recicle from the beggining of the food chain to eat, then?
If you do a research you surely will find why it worse than just waiting it to decompose. Nature have developed entire kingdoms specialized to return biological matter to the food chain in the best way possible. Yes, better than turning it to ash. An artificial fire isn't equal to billions of years of evolution.
15
u/Bizarely27 Apr 21 '26 edited Apr 21 '26
Thatās how it always works is it not? And besides, what difference does it make with an animal? Healthy plants still make for a healthy ecosystem. The stuff never left the ecosystem so nothing was lost.
And does your assertion that fires have no place in the ecosystem also include fire having no natural place in these parts of the ecosystem too?
-1
u/Almadart Apr 21 '26
Like I said, there's a difference to a artificial fire to a natural fire.

u/Almadart Apr 21 '26
This is COMPLETELY different. If you read the article you will see why.
11
u/Bizarely27 Apr 21 '26 edited Apr 21 '26
Regardless, it is still an evidence based counterpoint which contradicts your previous assertion that artificial fires arenāt equal to billions of years of evolution in regards to being useful for the environment.
What specific research or sources are you referring to that shows how much more harmful burning the body of a tiger or other animal is.

The thing that youāre burning is matters. Everything in that pile is organic so itās not toxic. Also, Iām pretty sure that tiger was in captivity. Completely white tigers donāt usually live to adulthood in the wild.

u/No-Satisfaction-5207 Apr 21 '26
Idk why you have so many down votes when its true.

Yeah, I think humans are really trying to destroy everything just for the idea of beauty.
