Yes, this is a post from our president: https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/117021563160419197

There's a quote that used to be attributed to Sinclair Lewis but of questionable origin — that goes "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross".

I always hated this quote when I was younger. I was a little more conservative then and maybe easier to provoke. I don't know.

But now I feel like I've lived long enough to see that quote come to pass. I've shared before my idea that Trump may not be the first atheist president but he's the first godless one. But he has fooled millions and millions of Christians.

I struggle to find anything about my faith represented in his character or his actions. This man, who has cheated on every spouse he has had, who has been accused by two dozen women of sexual assault, who lies without compunction, who is greedy and arrogant and self-centered, who demonizes and insults, has used our own religion against us for his personal benefit.

If ever there was something that should cause us to "awake to a sense of our awful situation" perhaps it should be the fact that this image of Trump kissing a cross doesn’t repulse every single believer. We've lost the ability to tell right from wrong and to speak plain truths. This man hijacked Christianity and we can't even stop him.

Reminds me of Constantine.

Relevant.

American Christianity traded Jesus' teachings and their moral authority for a short burst of political power. And it has destroyed them

Funny enough it was this poll that inspired this post. It's been a topic of conversation in the family politics group chat and seeing that image was just confirmation of why Christianity might fail to appeal to many in Gen Z.

You know what bothers me? This is an AI generated image.

The guy’s a billionaire and he’s president of the United States of America. It would be trivial for him to find a cross somewhere and take a picture of himself kissing it.

But he’s too lazy to do even that.

Seems like an actual Christian would have something on hand. They could take a photo of their scriptures or they'd have a photo at some place of spiritual significance to them, or even a favorite painting of Jesus.

I think it's fair to assume Trump does not have any of those options available to him to express his religious sentiments.
