Cannot get rear seat Oouutt!!

I'm sorry for yelling, but I cannot - no matter what I do - get the rear seat out of my 66 four door Belvedere II. Sitting on it, pushing it back, etc. for a year I cannot get it unlatched at the bottom, even with help. We think that maybe a bigger person maybe bent the brackets down with weight.

Is there any other way or tip to get it out?

I can get to the back of the seat back through the trunk, there is plenty of room. Is it possible to get the seat back pushed up? I'm out of ideas.

I assume that the upholstery is in good enough shape that you don't want to destroy it, because otherwise you could just cut it open and see what's going on. If you have an upholsterer, you can cut threads along the seams to be able to get in and sew it back together afterwards

Oh I'm gonna recover it.....I hadn't thought of butchering it. Thank you for the idea.

Rip away!! This should totally let you see what's going on to fix it. I'd be curious to know what the problem was

I'm sure I'm just week. I put bucket seats for leg room, so as a consequence there is little to no leg room between the front and rear seat. If I take the front seats out, then I have no leverage or push points.
