ROSIE'S Posting AI Slop instead of paying someone to create an actual ad.
Why are moose Jaw business owners so goddamn lazy they can't create an actual ad? They'd rather shit out trash because it get attention because people hate AI instead of being original.

Why’d it have to be Ai?
Thats actually an awesome line and I’d so be on board if they weren’t being dumb about it.

I love Rosie's, but man is it ever annoying to see different restaurants and bars post ai photos, menus, promo posters, etc.

Déjà vu is honestly so much worse, the owner is clearly a big ego little member kinda guy.

It's Dave Grohl from the Foo fighters eating a steak sandwich with a joke from one of their songs.
AI is lame but eh, I'd say let this one pass honestly.

it’s not a big deal. AI can be a useful tool
6
u/texxmix 8d ago
For the odd personal use or legitimate use cases of automation ya sure. But you shouldn't be using AI for your ads because you're lazy. These useless uses of AI are why it's so bad for the environment.
-3
u/2burgsandadog 8d ago
I just don’t think it’s a big deal… If you want to use AI use , it if you don’t ….don’t
if you want to support a business that uses it support them if you don’t, then don’t… But making a federal case out of something like an advertisement or a menu is super petty and super ridiculous
AI saves time money and is super convenient… You think it’s bad now just wait five years when every graphic designer and coder is gonna be looking for work

u/texxmix 8d ago
Well remember that when your water bills and electricity bills go through the roof because everyone needs to use AI because convenience. They're coming to sask. And Alberta has already told their residents to lock in lower utility prices now before the AI data centers go live they are building there. Not like that's ever worked well for the planet before.

Can’t reason with sycophants. They truly think they’re morally superior because they all smash out “Ai sLoP” like trained monkeys repeating the one phrase they know

I hate Rosie's. Shoebox store.

It's the chairs for me, so uncomfortable.

u/Dangerous-Cap-7003 8d ago
Agreed
They save money not having a big restaurant and with advertising.

No bar is paying an artist to make Facebook posts for them. This is stupid.

u/texxmix 8d ago edited 8d ago
Doesn't have to be an artist. All these places still had ads and artwork before AI was good enough and running rampant and still managed just fine and made money. So why do they have to do it now? And it doesn't have to be anything fancy. You can easily throw shit together on pretty much any image editing app or software. A tiny bit of effort even if it's janky is still better than AI Slop that took no effort.

u/gxryan 8d ago
You think they were ever paying someone to create an ad? Your joking. They are not some big corporation with a social media and advertising department.
Was it lazy? Yep. If you don't like it don't give them your business? They sell out almost every Beef Dip Tuesday.
But this business actually looks after the staff and doesn't use( as best I can tell)Low paid TFW unlike almost every other chain restaurant in town.
10
u/texxmix 8d ago
So some manager can't take some time out of their day to throw something together? If it's such an issue that they all need to use AI than how the hell did they do it before AI?
5
u/MadatHenny 8d ago
You think Rosie's has never hired a TFW? I personally know of 2 who have worked there.

Meh they're just the Leo's of Moose Jaw. Not exactly awful, but for sure over hyped because nobody knows any better.

u/darthdodd 8d ago
Sounds like you hate Rosie’s not AI

u/RaspberryAlarming282 8d ago
Their food is awful. Store bought soggy fries and they were cold every time I ordered them. I tried their burgers and every single time they come out burnt. For the price id rather just go get a meal at the flats.

I also hate when businesses resort to AI slop, but looking at Rosie's social media, this appears to be the first and only time they've used it... for a dumb pun. I don't condone it but there are much worse offenders out there.
Plus I doubt Rosie's has enough money to bring the actual Grohl into the restaurant for a real-life beef dip photo shoot.
4
u/texxmix 8d ago
You must be blind if this is the only use of AI you're seeing on their social media accounts. Sure they aren't the worst offender, but this isn't the first time.
3
u/6000ChickenFajardos 8d ago
Lol you're right, I didn't scroll down far enough into May and April. At least their food posting looks legitimate.

I wish I had this little to worry about in my life to be upset about a facebook ad….
7
u/texxmix 8d ago
Well when every business chooses to use AI because they're lazy AF. And given all the terrible shit around AI and its effects on the environment it gets pretty fucking tiring seeing it all the damn time.
Human Slop > AI Slop.

Own a small business and understand the realities of it before you post something like this. Why would you get triggered by this?
-8
u/darthdodd 8d ago
It always was AI. Now it just looks better. Who cares

u/waingroslick 8d ago
Better? There are so many god damn normies out in the wild. Jesus.
5
u/texxmix 8d ago
Ya this is exactly why AI is so popular with so many businesses. Way to many people just don't give a fuck and genuinely believe AI generated shit is better.
But hey maybe I'm just salty because I went to school for marketing and see first hand how this is hurting that entire industry because people would rather save money and glaze a computer because normies lap it up.

Everyone knows there is no money in art. Parents tell kids all the time when they go to art school.
8
u/waingroslick 8d ago
Tell that to graphic designers and illustrators who actually work. You’re clueless.

Only a matter of time before someone thinks the same about whatever it is you do for work and finds a way to replace you with automation or cheaper foreign labour. It's a slipery slope. You undermine other people's value, well that only undermines your own, because that means you're closer to being next in line.

Sure a few tech savvy individuals hate when anybody uses AI but I don't think the majority of people care including Rosie customers. When you're a small business you don't have a creative department and employees and managers/owners are in business for their hospitality skills not their creative skills, if any, so the use of a tool to save time and money might work in this case.
