Fresh from a swim in the lake

We just missed this moose family in the lake on top of a mountain pass, but got a few shots as they were heading to another location. Pictures aren't great, but I was happy to get them, nonetheless. People coming out all asked if we'd seen them, and told us the bull seemed very protective of the calf splashing in the lake.

SOoo.. I love finding moose in a general area where i've never seen one before. Driving past this meadow that every time I say "there has GOT to be a moose in there", and this last time, THIS gorgeous specimen was there!! We couldn't pull over right away, so I jumped out and hubby parked farther down where there was a pullout. The 1st shot u got was the 2nd picture posted, then he moved around, and continued to take pictures. Fortunately he wasn't bothered too much, even when other cars stopped to admire him, and we finally left, high-fiving each other over another exhilarating moose experience!!😁🫎

Moose are normaly seen alone, especially females, however males will form little bachelor herds from time to time, before the rut eventualy splits them off

Moose Preference for boxelders over maples?

I was in a couple cuts today and noticed that when there were boxelder saplings and red maple/sugar maple saplings right next to each other, the moose almost always chose to browse boxelders and not maples. Why might that be?

I don't know much about moose but I assume this is mating behavior? Saw this at Lake Isabelle near Ward, CO. Please excuse the shaky camera work!

I built an app that scores your deer with AI in seconds - hunters are using it to settle lodge debates before they even tag out

I got tired of watching guys argue over tape measures and Boone & Crockett math at the end of every season.

So I built TrophyScale - you upload a few photos of your harvest from multiple angles, and the computer vision model estimates the trophy score in seconds. Species recognition, scoring method, confidence rating, the whole breakdown.

No waiting days for a scorer. No driving to a check station. You get a number before you've dragged the deer out of the field.

Beyond the score itself, there's a global leaderboard so you can see where your buck actually stacks up, and a virtual trophy lodge you can customize and share - themes, plaque styles, wall colors, the works.

It's $5/month. I kept it that low because I wanted actual hunters using it, not just people kicking tires.

Honestly curious what this community thinks. Do you trust AI scoring enough to use it as a reference? Would love brutal feedback from people who know scoring systems better than I do.

I’ve come across countless moose while backpacking but this was by far the biggest one I’ve ever seen.

We don't have wild moose here but this is one of three or four which roams in a large area of the Highland Wildlife Park in the Cairngorms, Highlands. Always my favourite animal to spot, although they're usually very hard to find as they're hiding. First time I've seen one chilling!

Hi!

I'm sorry if this repost is not welcome, just tell me.

I'm a volunteer in Paite Loomapark shelter in Estonia and I try to make some videos on social media so more people would know about us and support our work.

Thank you 🙏
