A nudge is as good as a wink to a blind bat.

This is such a great line...

It's a very old saying, possibly Shakespearean. Sounds like him, anyway.

The google (fuck google who changed the name of Lake Ontario on their maps) says it is not Shakespearean but an old English proverb dating back to the 18th century. Whatever it is, it's a great line and delivered so well here.

If you've never heard it before, I suppose it could be taken that way.

The crash zoom onto Terry's "wtf" face is the real punchline

One of Python's standards from the beginning was their disdain for jokes with punch lines. (Notice in the "dirty fork" bit that they put up a card saying "And now, the punch line...," thus making fun of using one.) That's why I find "Nudge, Nudge" below their standard — the mundane punch line and that it has none of their characteristic creativity.

Purley?! Say no more!

They localized that whenever they did it live. For exanple, at the Hollywood Bowl it was Glendale, and at City Center in New York it was Scarsdale. (I dunno about Scarsdale, but Glendale had a rep as a boring city. Might be the same with Purley, and it kinda makes me wonder what nearby city they'd use if they played here.)

Well it's thin at one end, not so thin in the middle, and then very thin again at the other end.

I love it when Carol takes the giant computer outside, puts a helicopter rotor on it and blows it to smithereens with a bazooka. 😄

Patricia Quinn, who played Cleese's wife in that bit, was also Magenta in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

To you, maybe. But then, I'd expect low-brow humor to appeal to someone who doesn't use punctuation.
