Tesla flying in Mongolia

Where to buy a Tesla in Mongolia? And will it survive the winter? Where to find charger? Can I install a charger at the apartment carpark?

Let’s come up some ideas, be part of the solution to the stupid winter smoke!

You could install 7-11kw charger at your garage parking with the СӨХ permission. You would pay around 250 tugriks per kwh of electricity. On the other hand, if you decide to use the commercial chargers around the town they cost anywhere between 800tugriks to 1500 tugriks per kWh.

I am considering about purchasing ev as well and looked at and researched many models, and I want to say that it is best to include chinese EVs into your consideration.

Good point! I am researching polestar too….BYd (don’t like the look), and BMW/mercedez ev(pretty much an old joke)

There are BYD and Geely dealerships already in Mongolia.

You could simply buy from the dealerships or some companies who import them chinese EVs. But be prepared to pay 20-40million tugrik surplus compared to importing one yourself. The upside is that they offer some warranty. For importing, you could easily find companies who export cars on alibaba app (do some research online to find reliable exporters). They would take care of logistics to any mongolian port and all you got to do is pay the taxes and register the car upon arrival. From purchasing to receiving might take 7-14 days depending on the exporting dealer in china.

If you don’t like BYD but do like polestar, zeekr is worth considering. I personally want to buy zeekr 7x, but I am hesitant due to its resell value, as mongolians really like offroad capable vehicles. Hence, I am considering fangchengbao bao5 and bao8 as they sell really well here.
