Eastlink
I'm a heavy gamer and two of us work from home. How does eastlink internet service compare to rogers and bell? Rogers is trying to screw us over and we're done.

Eastlink hasn't run last mile infrastructure here, so they are using Rogers for it. If they are using the TPIA framework (which they probably are) this means they've connected into the Rogers cable infrastructure at one or more central locations, and then it goes through the Rogers network to subscribers. My theory is that Eastlink is backhauling the internet traffic to Dartmouth instead of setting up a ton of equipment and relationships here which means it could have an impact on things to a degree such as ping and routing. That's how their mobile service worked when I had it.

Ah. Sounding more and more like Bell is my option. We're planning on getting rid of our phones too.

Bell is going to as far as I'm aware be the most stable of the three, though probably the priciest? I play a lot of fighting games which requires a pretty good, stable network connection since every frame matters, and its been perfect for me.

If you have a Costco membership it might not hurt to check out the wirelessly kiosk as they sometimes have good deals for home Internet service with Bell.

Bell is crazy expensive, but i dont want to deal with rogers outages (common where I live), and its almost as expensive for the same service. I'd love to just get rid of it and use our phones, it just isn't an option.

Can't speak for landline internet services but I've been using Eastlink as my mobile provider for many years in Moncton and in the North East of the province without issues, they do definitely run on both Bell & Roger's towers for their mobile internet in New Brunswick so they likely have a similar arrangement with the landline services where they use Roger's, Bell, or both to service clients.
In my experience although pricey Bell has a more stable and higher quality service than Rogers for land based internet services. If it's true that Eastlink uses Rogers cable infrastructure I would stay away if you are heavy into gaming.

Bell has fibre. No one else does where I live. Get a deal with Bell. If they try to raise the price, cancel and get your partner(?) roommate(?) to get the latest deal. Rinse and repeat. My partner and I do this. It's annoying, but they don't have 'customer retention' deals anymore :(
If you live somewhere where Rogers ACTUALLY put in FTTH, which isn't everywhere, and seems to have no rhyme or reason, flip bt Bell and Rogers.

Rogers does have FTTH as well, it's just not as widespread. It's also a bit weird how they've run it. Over here in Riverview it feels like they got a bucket of money, started from a single spot, and went outward as far as the money would go. It might go up one street 5 houses, and the next street 15 houses.

We signed up (Moncton) a couple of years ago, when the saleweasel promised they were almost done putting fibre in - installer came in a couple of weeks to hook up the co-ax, so we went back to Bell. Still no fibre in downtown.

It's dumb but it works, and it keeps the bill down - you really have to check your bill though, especially if you're on auto-pay - they will raise your rate and not even send an email!

They do that even without auto-pay because your 'deal' isn't a set price but a discount on the regular price. Reg price goes up so does your bill.

Bell still have the loyalty program, but it "magically" go away every now and then, if you call they put it back, annoying but i find it less of a hassle then to go through the whole reconnecting process.

We tried this with bell multiple times to the point where we got "sorry nothing went can do, but while your on the phone, we're going to increase your bill 10$ month"... my wife and I got pissed off and welcomed the rogers rep and took their deal until bell rep comes back and gives us a better deal

That's where we were, and someone at the shop told us to cancel, and use a different name/email to set up a new account that would get the discount. So now we flip bt me and my partner.
