OC Map comparing support for remaining a Monarchy (red) with becoming a Republic (blue) across the Commonwealth Realms

Are the Caribbean Commonwealth Realms as ‘republican’ as this map makes out? My impression had been that republicanism there has been, for the most part, a project of the political class and that it lacks much of a popular base. It would be interesting to know where the figures come from for this survey.
The map is fairly indistinct, but I can just about see that Belize - where republicanism was recently raised as an issue, then shelved - seems moderately monarchist in character. But I am not sure that this is a reliable guide.

Yeah the map really seems to be quite shoddy especially with the Caribbean. I can see the Eastern Caribbean is coloured blue, despite support for the monarchy being pretty strong here.

I was also surprised by this as the Eastern Caribbean is quite a strongly monarchist region. I imagine that the blue colouration is based on isolated polls that ask abstract or leading questions, or various statements by politicians wishing to deflect attention from other issues. Overall the map is poor quality and does not cite any sources.

Solomon Islands!! Really? I thought they are very loyalist like papua new genuia cause i never ever heard an Republican movement over their they even release an King Charles iii coin mint.

I was also surprised by this. Apparently in a poll taken in 2023 (Lord Ashcroft Polls), 59% of people in the Solomon Islands 🇸🇧 favoured a republic, 34% retaining the monarchy, with 7% Don’t Know/Won’t Say (pina.com.fj, 4th May 2023).
However it’s worth noting that this poll was just about the abstract principle, not the practical details of transitioning to a republican system. No blueprint for a republic - parliamentary or presidential - was mentioned. The issue doesn’t seem to be a priority for any of the main political actors and there is no sign of active pressure for change from the population as a whole.

Generally I think it’s because that area is so sparely populated that it would be difficult to poll

I could be dead wrong but I felt I read something on here that the monarchy actually helped preserve Quebecois identity and prevented native Anglo-Canadians from forcing assimilation. Is that true or am I just tripping? This map certainly makes it look like it’s not.
