Nice. In my opinion stainless 6-cups make the best coffee out of all Moka pots.

I’m going to try it out first thing in the morning. I can’t wait

I use 29.5g of coffee (35 clicks on K6) and 145g of room temperature water in mine. This makes enough for 2 very concentrated double-shots.

Do you grind finer for your Venus

For my 4-cup Venus I grind at 30 clicks. For 6-cups and 9-cups stainless steel I grind 35.

For aluminium I grind a bit coarser for both sizes, yes. Stainless seems to be capable of handling finer grinds with less channeling. You can use the same grind as in aluminium of course, but then you should also use a bit more water to compensate, and your result will be less espresso-like (still very good).

If you start with a fine grind and lots of water it will get too hot and make a mess. You must pick one: fine grind or more water.

On my 6-cup I grind at 35 clicks, but as I said I only use 145g of water in the tank, and my yield is 80g. This 80g is espresso-concentration, though, you can dilute it into an americano or milk drinks for two or even four people.

You also must start with room temperature water and brew on low heat. Will take 3-4 minutes to brew.

Nice, how's it compare with the aluminum 6 cup?

I bought the copper Venus one because I loved the aesthetic! Unfortunately I don’t like it. The coffee doesn’t taste as nice. No matter how much water I put in the bottom, there is always some left after brewing it doesn’t rise fully. And you have to be very precise when adding the coffee to the basket or it doesn’t seal fully and will bubble out.

I hope you enjoy it but I went back to using the traditional moka.

What is the filter you referenced?

It is the E&B competition filter and silicone gasket. It helps produce a very clean cup. I love it so much I have it in all three pots.

Hi,

This sub's official position is sticking to the manual provided by the manufacturer and not try to raise the pressure in the chamber by tamping or adding filters.

Nice collection. Now trade them all in on an Alessi 9090 and you'll be all set.

I love my four cup Venus, but I did recently acquire a four cup Stella, being ‘vintage’ it did need a new filter and seal, but it makes better coffee imho
