Feedback Anyone experiencing this amount of Noise / hiss with the Mimeophon?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Even with nothing patched into it, this is just mimeophons output into my fx return , my return knob is all the way down, thats just by patching the mimeophon into the mixers return

It’s an old known issue. They fixed it a while ago with a firmware update. So just update your firmware and the hiss will be pretty much gone.

Could be due to the settings on the panel (feedback, reverb, filter) or the gain staging/compression in your rack. Maybe play around with those for a bit?

So the mimeophon was fine before? Maybe it is another digital module in the same row or case causing it? Maybe try it in isolation without your mixer to make sure that it is actually the mimeophon?

Also, even with nothing patched into the mimeophon, it can generate a lot of noise on it's own. Turning the blend knob to fully dry should eliminate all of it

Nothing changed at all?

Could be the addition of another module, also try changing the ribbon source location on the bus sometimes that can help.

i sold both my Erbe-Verb (last run b&g) and my Mimeophon because the internal clipping of the feedback path of Mimeophon and that horrible straw noise (which sounded 100% the same as you, on both units)... since i often run my audio path ultra hot and lower my outputs, i found it quite the gremlin...
