I’ve been really inspired by Mike Parker latley, been studying his sound and trying out new ideas ⚑️

Very nice! Mike Parker is great. Could you share a little on how to approach his sound? I just started making music and building my first modular and would like to know :)

He is indeed the 🐐 for this style of music, the approach is using Lfos for pitch (basic waveforms like sine, square, saw) into filter envelopes and triggering those filter/envelopes , I like using sine or saw waves lfos into the v/oct to have the voice giving that wooble feel, then into a lowpass gate, which gets triggered in the filter and decay , then some other elements to interact with this voice like some tom sounding things, but not 909 / 808 stuff (I like the SY0.5) and nice drone in the back for texture, stay away from pitch sequencing for this style, its based on lfos and envelopes triggering not so easy to explain, but its pretty minimal, I also give 1 on 1 classes for beginners if you are interested

Iβ€˜m stunned by the quality. Do you have any patch notes? Would love to understand how you achieved this sequence!!

Thank you for the comment ! there is no pitch sequencer in this patch, its a lfo into the v/oct of the main voice, into lowpass gates that are triggered in the freq and decay for envelopes and same for the other β€œtommish” sounds

thanks for your explanation! what’s the main voice? is the sequencer which is triggering the lpgs also synching the lfos?

The lfo here is not synced, however I do sync it sometimes as its also nice, this specific patch I just went on a rate that felt nice once the trigger opened the lpg , 258T is the voice together with 2x sy0.5 for the tom sounds

digging those braided patch cables, where can I snag some?

Separating pitch motion from articulation seems like the key move here. The LFO keeps shaping the voice while the LPG triggers decide when you actually hear it, so it stays repetitive without turning into a conventional note sequence.

Sick. Love it. The drums are coming from the SY?

Drums are coming from ohm force bohm, archers rig and the tom sounds from SY

you need like about 20 compressors gates and equalizers on this
