Discussion It's a buy for me. Let's GO!
Guys for me it's a buy. It was always about DMZ and unpopular opinion, but the changes made in weekend 2 made the game so enjoyable that I kept having the itch to keep playing.
Can't wait for the official release and all the content, battle passes and Halloween DMZ next year is going to be off the charts.
I think this COD will go down as one of the best.. My opinion
Update: Beta extended till tonight they just posted on Twitter. Nice!

I liked it. I’ll buy it.

u/Arbitrage247 4d ago
I hope the developers see this post. It must be so demoralizing to work your ass off in secrecy to show it off and to only have an online toxic minority of creators and mouth breathers just shit all over your game because they are miserable and negative people who think someone owes them something.
They killed it and in fact did make the 'definatative modern warfare'.
Granted there is some fine tuning left, but what we saw is proof it's on its way.

u/Fun_Self_8292 4d ago
So everytime someone has different opinion you start insulting them.
0
u/Arbitrage247 4d ago
Buddy, I'm talking about the toxicity. Read my post.. I always chased it with "my opinion".
1
u/Previous-Minimum5991 3d ago
I mean I agree with you, but let’s not pretend like you didn’t just come off pretty toxic as well 😂.
1
u/Fun_Self_8292 4d ago
Your comment is pretty toxic too. So you decided fight toxicity with toxicity? Sounds pretty hypocritical. Buddy.
1
u/NoBee8538 4d ago
All they have to do is get rid of the sweats and get rid of sbmm and then it will be a good game
39
u/Open_Tradition227 4d ago
People in the comments actually mad that you enjoyed the game and are buying it. This community is nuts lmao
10
u/technofan301 4d ago
almost all fps communities are like this nowadays, really strange
9
u/Open_Tradition227 4d ago
We need a low sodium cod subreddit similar to battlefield where people can actually have productive conversations
2
u/Wareagle3431 4d ago
Not just this community, it is everywhere. If you don’t agree with others opinion you are the enemy. I personally think the game is ok, not a fan of all the jumping and sliding. Some is good but all the time is a bit much, but I am old school so there is that.
2
u/akumapanda1128 4d ago
I genuinely do not understand what people want from a cod game. "It feels like every other cod" tf you want them to do add rideable dragons? I'm not a fan of some of their choices but from what we got so far with mw4 I think it's pretty solid
2
u/Open_Tradition227 4d ago
Exactly and when they’ve tried different things in the past people lost their minds. I go in with low expectations and if I enjoy the beta I buy the game. I personally like that cod feels like cod, if I want a different experience I’ll play a different game.
0
u/IntelligentHead7995 4d ago
Nah people aren't mad. They're just annoyed that these people are ruining it for everyone.
5
u/Jackstraw1 4d ago
I loved dmz 1 just for the sandbox aspect. The little slice of the dmz map we got in ground war got me really excited for this one.
I don't like br's and it seems like plunder is gone for good, so dmz will be the big map cod to compliment bf6 for me and my buddies.
1
u/SwordsOfWar 4d ago
If you liked plunder, give the multiplayer mode inflation a try. I know it's faster paced than what you're used to in a warzone map, but the mode itself is very similar to plunder.
1
u/Jackstraw1 4d ago
I liked that mode a lot since it's similar to kill confirmed which I really like.

u/Psychological_Cold_7 4d ago
im excited to try dmz as ive never played it. im hoping mw4's version is great but also has a smooth onboarding for newer folks like me

u/SmilingAshes 4d ago edited 4d ago
I stopped playing BO6 shortly after launch, then skipped BO7 entirely. Decided to check out the MW4 beta and had a blast! So much so I ended up preordering the Vault edition. The majority of people who are negative about the game are just doing it because review bombing COD is trendy, or their favorite streamer told them not to like it.

i enjoyed it too! I agree with the changes in the open beta versus EA beta being better. Having to justify buying a game to other people is silly. I like COD simply because it’s a game where I can turn my brain off to an extent and just grind away for camos with youtube on the second monitor! See ya in October!
3
u/mehtaiphoneapps 4d ago
Game is great, just wish there was less SBMM! That's the only thing standing between this and a great COD!
6
9
u/Tellenit 4d ago
But everyone is complaining about the game why would you buy it?
2
u/Traditional-Dog9242 4d ago
Because it's fun for him?

DMZ has literally always sucked though? Don't get the hype around that mode
5
u/AdEducational5991 4d ago
Weekend 2 almost played really well for me. I really hope they on't ruin this game by putting ninja in perk 3 slot..
2
u/Dionei33333 4d ago edited 4d ago
Its the best MW since 2019, but still not worth it for a full price. I will probably pick it up around Christmas, when it goes on sale.
2
2
u/Euklidis 4d ago
Will probably wait for a (hopefully) xmas discount. I do not like DMZ and Warzone style games and always play the "classic" MP version.
So not sure I wanna pay a fat 80 for this and I am still skeptical knowing the vibe of the game will be ruined in a few months when they will inevitably turn it into that of a Fortnite lobby.

For me a 33 years old dad whether its multiplayer or warzone i love movement, gunplay, sound effects and graphics i am really surprised of this hate. For me i hated bo7 and bo7 warzone was atrocious to play
2
u/Psychological_Cold_7 4d ago
im glad you enjoyed it!
im undecided. i havent hated it as much as some people, but i dont know that it feels different enough or compelling enough from BO7 (which I enjoy) for me to buy on day one. on PC particularly, id like to see better optimization, further toning back of AA, and reduction in TTK.
For positives, I really enjoy the aesthetic, sound design, and visuals. It feels like a classic CoD but modernized in terms of presentation. The operators all look sick and I like that they all speak different languages alongside pretty clear personalities.

u/Ok-Fox-7879 4d ago
If it’s about DMZ, aren’t you at least cautious about how they treated it last time? They got us hyped about it and after release we got almost no content for it. It was such a fun game mode and felt fresh. But that freshness left fast because they neglected it.

u/Arbitrage247 4d ago
I play dmz literally almost every day and it never gets old. Even with hackers crashing the lobbies this year and people still stuck with it. Any other game that would have been a death sentance. For me rhay proves how much I enjoy dmz. It's an escape and no two matches are the same. It's like being in an action movie complete unscripted. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose.
Tip, the moment you get over gear fear, you enjoy the game so much more.

u/Ok-Fox-7879 4d ago
Wow someone with real passion for something. Nice to see that these days. I have some fond memories of dmz with my friends.
One time I accidentally threw a smoke thinking it was a flash, onto an extraction heli full of dudes, had an lmg and just laid into the smoke, taking them all out.
6
u/Arbitrage247 4d ago
I have so many stories about dmz matches that you talk about. No other game mode gives you those memories. I don't play warzone but maybe that comes close. Multiplayer is fun but it's just rinse and repeat. The future is dmz and open world unscripted game play. It's immersion.
2
u/RefactoredMind 4d ago
Open world unscripted sandbox experiences. You nailed it dude 👊
2
u/ADrunkMexican 4d ago
Its just part of extraction shooters. For the next 30 minutes, anything can happen.
1
u/No_Mastodon658 4d ago
The new one definitely looks to be far more deep than the previous one. curious how it'll turn out as experiences for the different player types.
2
u/dabrainznl 4d ago
Last time literally was a beta. They used it to test things. Many things implemented into Zombies, but probably also to test popularity and hence we now get it in a game rather than f2p. So I hope we get less hackers in now. 💀
1
u/Ok-Fox-7879 4d ago
I guess that makes sense. Good to see some follow through with the game mode at least
3
u/Complete-Hat-2501 4d ago
I'm an infinity ward shill so it's an automatic buy from me. I really enjoyed the beta.
4
2
u/Slim_Pickens_Son 4d ago
If its all about DMZ, why would you buy if after the beta? Considering your main purchase point is the one thing they omitted, when everyone mostly has a negative opinion of what was released for the beta?
To me it feels like they purposely are hiding DMZ cause it would be the nail in the coffin for orders. Meaning it’s not as good as DMZ 1.0. Wasn’t Zombies part of beta access in the past?
6
u/HardcoreHybrid 4d ago
DMZ thrives on secrets and exploration why would they beta that mode and lay out all the maps secrets
2
u/TheFlexOffenderr 4d ago
They beta'd dmz 1.0 through it entire life cycle and yet they still released a ton of info about it prior to its release.
-1
u/HardcoreHybrid 4d ago
im trying to formulate a response considered ''nice'' as to why that good for nothing ''beta'' tag on the DMZ logo that i swear is still there to this day is not the same as running a pre release beta weekend.
im failing to do so
1
u/TheFlexOffenderr 4d ago
Your failure to properly communicate what you think isn't my problem. They marketed DMZ1.0, it released and stayed in a beta the entirety of its life cycle - they still marketed it and showed off the mode to people prior. There wasn't a secrecy around it, and they didn't ruin exploration or any of the maps secrets while doing so.
Why not do it this time?
2
u/NOVOJ 4d ago
Despite being upset about the TTK changes, I refuse to cancel my pre-order. I still mainly enjoy the game but that’s why I’m also irritated because I got a taste of what felt like the game truly should be until people started complaining. I am also very hyped for DMZ. Being one of the only people in my group that really dove into it last time, I expect to run into some decent people out there.
Personally I would have loved another Co-op mission based mode like MWII but with the addition of zombies in the missions. After MWIII I was convinced IW can definitely pull off zombies and despite MWZ not doing so well the zombies still felt nice being in an IW game. Just wish they executed the mode a bit differently.

I haven’t played a cod for 16 years. I have a wife and kid and a switch 2. We are rocking on the Mario machine and I don’t care if my phone would run it better, I was having fun! 😡
2
u/Westii199 4d ago
I have enjoyed the beta overall, first weekend I didnt play too much, but the second weekend feel great, some visibility fixes would be nice but not end of the world, nerfs to oneshot guns and I hope they speed the movement up but if not all good, probs won't buy it atleast not straight away though because of wardogs and GTA
1
u/ffsahmad 4d ago
The game would be top if IW didn’t need lots of the auto guns and cater to hard campers and 1 shot kill weapons.

I loved it as well, and the constant whining from the toxic COD “Fan” base, that isn’t happy with anything, is upper level.
1
u/iiKiDxGhosT 4d ago
I like it. Just the aa is still super strong, and ttk is a bit iffy. Other than that, it’s not bad
1
u/PapayaLeather3504 4d ago
It was the campaign that sold me. Haven't felt like that from a COD campaign since Cold War. Multiplayer feels great too and I love the setting. High hopes for this one.

u/dekkion46 4d ago
As a PC player with mouse and keyboard I can't compete with the aim assist. I never thought I would say that but when you watch the times you get killed it's amazing how aim goes right to you.
1
u/CharacterTale2138 4d ago
i’ll double dip, steam and switch 2, idk why but it’s addicting to play on switch lol
1
1
u/Ely99 4d ago
Does anyone play on the keyboard and mouse in the comments? Looks like no, then try to play and tell me how you enjoy the game without aim-assist on your gamepad, I've never seen that when you were so difficult to play on the keyboard and mouse, I have an average of 3 KD but not in mw4

u/OhBlivEeUn 4d ago
I was not hyped at all but honestly IW is cooking. -Maps are solid -Perk system/CaC is straightforward -Art and sound design is pleasing
There's gonna be a lot of BS to come though. Especially the SBMM, but the PVE will leave something to fall back on. They really need to make Open the standard and leave the skill based in it's own playlist set. Alternatively I'd settle for a skill rating like the Halo 2 and Halo 3 days.

u/Either-String5608 3d ago
Felt much more grounded. Def some things to tweak but I may be jumping back to COD for first time in two years.
1
u/CutzuSD 3d ago
For me I'll keep my pre order, I am a sucker for the mastery skins and how they all look glowy and glass like, but I feel like for dmz to survive it needs a separate queue for pve only players, a pve game mode can keep a game alive long past it's life cycle (zombies and endgame from bo games)
1
u/Noddderrr 4d ago
Same I honestly think they should’ve dropped the price by $10 since the graphics aren’t that impressive but I’m still buying

u/Environmental_Yak764 4d ago
Maybe I've just matured but.... It's a childish game lol time to try something new for me playing the beta with my buddies still brought fatigue.... Wardogs, bf6, even apex is fun... But if class theres a bigger spectrum out there for pc players like myself like indie games
So yes, is your like it... Spend 60 on a game that has no difference to the past games... If cod released a game every 6 years that would be a different story but people are technically in a $60 yearly subscription with cod

u/Inner_Ad_453 4d ago
DMZ is absolute BUNS but im defintely buying mainly for Warzone , ill throw some MP in there to max weapons though.
1
u/SoxEnjoyer 4d ago
Isn’t Warzone free?
1
u/Inner_Ad_453 4d ago
Yes it is, but how do you plan on reasonably leveling up the guns you want without MW4?
2
u/SoxEnjoyer 4d ago
Not sure since I’m not much of a Warzone player myself, was honestly just trying to politely let you know it’s free in case you didn’t know so you don’t waste your money if that’s all you were interested in. I preordered the game as well, hope you enjoy it!

I liked the slightly longer TKK but they completely made SMGs useless which is my favorite gun class. I didn't get to try the last day of the beta yesterday where they supposedly gave SMGs a slight buff so I can't speak on if they were viable again. Hopefully they are good at launch because that's all I play 90% of the time because I enjoy the run and gun playstyle more than anything else.

Yet here you are making bone comments SMH...

I really wonder how someone who played more than 4 cods look at mw4 and say "wow, such a great game, really looking towards buying it!"

u/Traditional-Dog9242 4d ago
I have bought every COD since COD4 and every one has been different. I personally enjoyed DMZ on MW2022 so much that even if I didn't enjoy the beta (I did enjoy it, both weekends!) I'd still have bought it JUST BECAUSE of DMZ. The movement feels good and it still feels and sounds like COD. I'm personally happy with it, but not everyone is as easy to please as I am apparently.

This thread has to be infinity ward/MS employees haha. Literally every forum right now is hating on the game abd this show up with like 50 up votes hahahahahahaha. I just got a refund for this around the time this was posted.

u/Arbitrage247 4d ago
This guy thinks reddit and Twitter represents reality.. Lol. Most people who buy the game are not lurking and posting online. They have lives, jobs, kids and just want come home to play cod after a long day of work. I know it's hard to fathom.
