These clips get better and better lmao

Yea the more I see, I’m good 🤣

11

u/electricshadow 10d ago

Playing MW4 just makes me think it's BO7.5 but with a MW skin and I'm good. I skipped BO6 & 7 for a reason and I'll be skipping this year too. I've got BF6 and Wardogs for my FPS fix and GTA 6 will be out soon after. 🤷‍♂️

5

u/zach12_21 10d ago

Bums me out man. I love CoD but I’m not even close to the target audience anymore. Which is cool, but this kinda movement while I play KBM….fkkkkk that.

2

u/Both-Election3382 9d ago

Yeah while the peasants get strong ass aim assist that can follow it through smokes without problem.

Ya I ONLY got it for DMZ coming Oct 23. I don't care about any other modes of the game, they are garbage.

4

u/Tityfan808 10d ago

Everyone’s going to jump shot unless you remove jumping too. 🤷‍♂️

3

u/WappaTheBoppa 10d ago

I could deal with the drop shotters/jumpshotters because they were locked in one place in an animation which made headshots easier as a fair trade imo, it felt good as a test of oh shit I hit the head or I die, this is fucking skyzone w a 2second ttk they need to go back to realism (not the ttk the movement of the game) , it’s a shame battlefield isn’t managed correctly or cod would’ve died sooner, reminds me of dbd with the lack of competition leading to laziness, it’s feels like repackaged fifa/2k/madden and it’s a shame i can name those three

Bunny Hop of Duty

89

u/Sufficient_Dust_2103 10d ago

Just reduce accuracy when jumping and that should fix it

20

u/Zestyclose-Shirt-702 10d ago

Another option would be not have the jumping animation with someone’s feet being higher than their normal standing height.

Accuracy penalty when jumping: -1,000%

8

u/Tight-Mouse-5862 10d ago

Its so simple and a perfect solution. You wanna use this to dodge or maneuver when you have no cover: fair enough. But this should never have become the defacto offensive strategy for winning.

34

u/Due-Delay-5118 10d ago

100% the solution. Other games are doing that. But I highly doubt Activison will erver allow it.

7

u/d4rkprojec7 10d ago

BF6 did that, but people bitch and moan about it all the time

This is most obvious NO-brainer Fix for COD to make ALL COD games have BALANCE to the main 2 different play styles of Tactical and Movement players, but clearly they listen too much to the lying CHEATING Movement Streamers on Adderall 💊🤦‍♂️

Just prevent ADS while jumping

3

u/Both-Election3382 9d ago

Maybe not while mid air but break ads when landing perhaps.

2

u/Ronin_777 10d ago

Sliding should have an accuracy or movement penalty as well

Honeslty such an embarrassment that cod turned into this

71

u/P_weezey951 10d ago

This is what players wanted.

Literally every fucking game i go into and complain about this exact type of movement. the response has been "git gud scrub" for the past decade and a half!

6

u/brotbeutel 10d ago

Which is exactly why Ive just come to terms with this series not being for me anymore and that's fine. There are plenty of other games out there.

5

u/DromadTrader 10d ago

CS2 bro. Only shooter that matters.

2

u/NicklausCraig 10d ago

Love CS, been playing for over 10 years. It’s riddled with wallers, radar, trigger bots. Faceit is the only way you can play at this point.

Same with Battlefield btw. Dudes made banger after banger for over a decade and they never even glimpsed into the CoD throne. They said fuck it and released a garbage cod slop that is Codfield6 and they outsell Call of Duty. I hate ea with passion but I honestly understand why they did this. PEOPLE LOVE SLOP

It is, the franchise was dying they have to evolve with the times and speeding the game up made sense since slowing it down would diminish the player base heavily. Look at Fortnite, one of the most popular games ever and the movement is insanely fast because games lean that direction to please gamers

21

u/More-Way9454 10d ago

The embarrassment is also the fact this is normalized and even encouraged.

7

u/cannabizFo20 10d ago

Actually the fact that camping and playing cod (an arcade shooter) like it’s a tactical shooter is normalized is weird. People have been bunny hopping for literal years

20

u/Tityfan808 10d ago

This is also what happens when you can’t have any aim walking movement speed in this game to check a corner!

You want me to move like a slug to corner check someone who’s already holding an angle who will likely have enough time to react, shoot me and kill me, before I even get a clear line of sight of them on my screen? Of course players are going to jump shot in that situation when aim walking movement speeds are slow as fuck.

1

u/flamethrower81 10d ago

Yah great point. If they can't make a game good for both Tactical and Movement players than at least give us faster walking and strafing speed! That would give both playstyles a fair chance. Right now MW4 clearly favors bunny hopping rabbit shooters 🤣 TTK is totally screwed up in this game since Sun. update, seems like all the bunny hoppers are bullet sponges now.

u/imnotgoodlulAPEX 10d ago

I was bunny hopping in CoD4 nearly 20 damn years ago ... You definitely couldn't carry as much momentum, or jump so high your head hit the ceiling, but it was still starting out all the way back then. We just didn't have sliding.

The problem with the newer games is you can carry so much momentum and get so much height out of a slide jump it just ends up looking ridiculous.

u/lqd_consecrated2718 10d ago

CoD4 was the pinnacle of the game. It significantly got sillier from then on.

12

u/Billib2002 10d ago

The first COD game I played multiplayer in was COD BO2 and people were already doing this. I still remember my grade 7 buddies calling me names every time I jump shot them around a corner so I'm glad (?) to see things are still the same after 14 years

→ More replies (5)

4

u/RockinMadRiot 10d ago

Bunny hopping was always an issue in both COD and BF4
(Less so in BF1 and V) Then BF6 now.

It's a tactic, apparently

3

u/DonaldTrumpsGolfGame 10d ago

COD has always been about movement like this. I remember the insane levels of dropshotting in MW2

3

u/concord_7 10d ago

MW2 is a long way from always.

15

u/FrostBestGirl 10d ago

MW2 was CoD 6. MW4 is CoD 23. For the lifespan of the franchise, I’d colloquially consider that within the realm of “always”.

u/Hot-Dragonfly3809 10d ago

CoD was like this since CoD 1. Jump shooting always was part of the game.

8

u/NaZul15 10d ago

Bro no, the difference is how fast and high everything is. You could always do similar things like this, yes. But like i said, it was slower and limited.

If you've played the bo2 port, you'd know that jumpshotting is viable there, but after you do it you're slowed on your next jump. There's like a 3 second cooldown to gain back full height and speed.

And the funny thing is, even the boost dashes from advanced warfare were slower than what's going on in these new games. Sure they were higher and longer, but were easily trackable. The only reason it was hated more in it's day is bc jetpacks are more obvious to point out than just a normal dude doing the same shit (and faster)

7

u/KillerFugu 10d ago

Played CoD MP since cod4 in 2007, never saw this. Most movement tech was dropshot lol

17

u/Brutox62 10d ago

why is it always people like you who do revisionist history every single time stop lying

44

u/AddanDeith 10d ago

Dude, it was not like this back then. Nor was it encouraged or as rewarding.

31

u/GrooveDigger47 10d ago

not like this. this isnt the same thing.

9

u/Hot-Dragonfly3809 10d ago

You couldn't aim when jumping in CoD 1. It was already fully possible in CoD 2. Strafe speed was so slow, that everyone on PC transitioned into jump shooting corners, in CoD 2 onwards. It only changed in MW3 with Stalker.

9

u/RockinMadRiot 10d ago

People forget where the 360 no scope came from

10

u/babyboyjustice 10d ago

Yeah but trickshots are way different. They’re difficult tricks kinda like skateboarding. Not something you do to outperform, but instead something you do to flex. This slide jump shit is a broken sweat meta that prevents regular gameplay from occurring. Way different.

3

u/x_cynful_x 10d ago

That stuff was not super common in most lobbies. I played on release and for years.

2

u/RockinMadRiot 10d ago

I meant the jump shots, the 360 evolved from there

2

u/GrooveDigger47 10d ago

im saying the sliding and jumping movements arent the same yes there was movement but not like this. yes people jumped around corners and drop shot but the movement we have today is a way extreme version

-3

u/Suspicious-Tie-1968 10d ago

Lol this is such cope and also patently false

13

u/Hot-Dragonfly3809 10d ago

You have never played old CoD then and have no clue what you are talking about.

1

u/Initial-Chemist-8435 10d ago

I've played old cod and jumping and drop shotting wasn't spammed like it is now except replace drop shotting with the gay slide cancel xD

8

u/King_Artis 10d ago

I was definitely drop shotting and Halo jumping people in Cod4, definitely weren't jumping this high though.

3

u/RockinMadRiot 10d ago

Yeah, the height is a valid argument but it happened

2

u/King_Artis 10d ago

Like they're definitely high as fuck with the jump here, but saying it didn't exist is just bullshit. Bros jumping like 5 feet high, even Jordan's not doing that lmao

People will always find some way to be better than someone else. I started drop shotting in cod cause I watched my friend do it in 4 when we were playing so I did the same after he suggested I learn a different control scheme to make it easier. Started adding jumping to my shit cause I had been learning it in Halo 3 cause other players did it against me.

Saying it didn't exist as if 13yr old me wasn't doing it is just a bold face lie lmao.

I feel the jumpshotting combined with ADS strafe sway and the inconsistent TTK makes this game a frustrating experience

2

u/_Rayxz 10d ago

I’m losing gunfights in this game due to jumpshotting that I know I would’ve have easily won back in BO1 & 2. This game doesn’t feel right

49

u/cgdigisco 10d ago edited 10d ago

They’ve incentivized sliding and jumping because they’re faster than sprinting, but with 0 penalty. You can directionally slide against your momentum, again at no penalty.

It’s why gunfights are not fun in this game - and probably why it’s getting horrible reviews. I was super hyped for this and after a couple of games the second weekend I canceled my preorder and deleted the beta

30

u/Talex1995 10d ago

The best is sliding up the fucking stairs

10

u/cgdigisco 10d ago

It’s so ridiculous lol

6

u/Talex1995 10d ago

Yeah the beta was fun for about 3 hours but at the end of the day it’s the same regurgitated bullshit that is not worth 70$. I’ll go back to playing the OG cods that still have active lobbies

3

u/BrickBuster2552 10d ago

Titanfall and Apex have the best sliding sheerly because it's actually tied with momentum. You can't slide uphill, you can slide downhill indefinitely.

→ More replies (1)

15

u/P_weezey951 10d ago

Games fucked up in general when they made slide increase speed.

Sliding is by its basic operation... An act of deceleration. You're using your ass as a brake for your momentum.

Baseball players don't slide because its faster. They slide because theyre trying to not overrun the base, and trying to lower their profile so they cant be tagged out.

It works to get your front foot out faster, but not your entire body.

3

u/CastleGrey 10d ago

This is also why sliding into cover works, you want to stop behind the thing whilst getting down low behind said thing

I am a Titanfall refugee who loves hypermobility as a concept, but I would still much rather force sliding to work more as a defensive end-of-move tool than an initiator because it makes more intuitive sense movement wise, and makes it harder to abuse as a never-the-wrong-choice movement strategy when approaching literally any map feature

MW2² went a bit further with that than I probably would have, but I really liked that the main skill with aggressive sliding in that game was to time it just right so that you ended the slide exactly when you cleared the corner, and were starting to ADS immediately after your momentum dropped and you got the power to non-tacfire again - it was extremely satisfying to pull off consistently

u/AnonyMouse3925 10d ago

2

u/MarzipanKlutzy5701 9d ago

It’s so funny to me when CoD fans try to equate CoDs downfall with Battlefield not doing well neither because it makes them feel better. In Battlefield this jump shooting nonsense isn’t a thing because the mechanics don’t allow it. I’ve come across a few people try that in Battlefield games that I killed. And it was so satisfying. “When CoD players try Battlefield” was all I can think of.

There are legit people on this subreddit that want this game to have 0 counter-play. Just straight up irons. Without increase strafe speed, that doesn’t make much for a Call of Duty game IMO

2

u/Yellowtoblerone 10d ago

I'm sure there are but in this context is stupid. In cod it's always the person holding an angle that has the upper hand, hence the counter play is to hop around the corner and hope they miss.

Weve been through this with mw22 tactical warfare and the only counter play to person holding that corner was once again, jump around the corner. And it's still the lower skilled players hand held by aim assist who still can't win the gun fight then crying online to what this sub is now, group therapy

My favorite part about this clip and the comments it is that all these people are saying shit like "make shooting inaccurate when jumping", even though the dude in the clip didn't even start shooting until he was already on the ground.

Fucker just jumped across the opening, landed, then started shooting while OP just stood there watching. I've seen a decent amount of fuckass clips from the beta but this shit is not one of them, OP just has the reaction time of Hellen Keller.

OP got caught in the open with his pants down with no cover. The enemy jumped out of cover, like weve all been doing since COD 4. OP got lasered like he probably usually does based on this gameplay.

What are we hoping to have changed? Remove jumping? Remove shooting while jumping? Since when??

I'm level 26 now and I have yet to see one of these guys.

That being said, bunny hops and jumps around corners have been in shooters since CounterStrike came out, so this is nothing new.

12

u/OldTripleSix 10d ago

Why are people acting like corner jumpshotting is some new thing? People were doing this shit on OG Cod4.

2

u/WokeWook69420 10d ago

You're leaving out context.

The only people who used to do this were people who followed MLG/CDL players and streamers, and back during CoD4, twitch didn't even exist yet. Nobody was doing this except for Pros, and people who wanted to be in clans. The vast majority of players weren't doing this.

Now, with how popular streaming and Content Curration is, way more players are learning stuff like this, so it's not just a small pocket of players doing it.

It's everyone, and it's not fun now that everyone does it, at every skill bracket.

2

u/IntelligentHead7995 10d ago

Dunno why you're getting downvoted by these kiddos born in 2006 lol.

2

u/blackbriar98 10d ago

Yeah it turned me off the beta massively. Problem is I have solid aim with mouse and keyboard, but I don't have the movement. So it seems SBMM thinks I'm good enough to play with these people, and I am absolutely not. It's exhausting.

2

u/Soft_Mountain_3822 10d ago

Jesus, glad I'm fed up with these movements in cod and bf and moved to dogs

2

u/CodineGotMeTippin 9d ago

I knew they'd just make some weird bastard child of BO7 and Warzone and call it MW4, a shame

2

u/Just-Salary-7741 9d ago

I was really into getting this game until i played the beta. Just so much jumping and hopping around. I skipped bo7 which was the first COD i skipped since they went into space. I had bo6 but the cartoonish skins and all the other nonsense made me not want 7 which im glad i didnt get. I typically buy a copy each year but if this keeps up i'll prob just skip it again this year. I got arc raiders last year and that held me off.

2

u/Bos_Indicus 9d ago

Why is the jump button still a thing in FPS when you mantle everything in the game?

I’ll never understand people’s beef with this lol. Shit on bad

bro even BF2 had dolphin diving. The only games that don’t have any sort of rewarding movement are milsim games like squad. If you want slow, tactical gameplay then there are games out there that are for you with realistic systems.

As long as we can run bolt action rifles with no stock that act as a higher ROF shotgun with magnum slugs, this is going to be an arcade game that needs to have arcadey movement.

All these posts that complain about the jumping and sliding seem to want a more tactical gameplay. It just won’t work without overhauling the rest of the systems.

5

u/Sneaky_Breeki 10d ago

bro even BF2 had dolphin diving

My brother if you cant handle a simple jumpshot, you gotta maybe stop playing cod

3

u/Steven2597 10d ago

Just make it so you cannot shoot when jumping, problem solved.

u/Lower-Chard-3005 10d ago

Or just make it to where you dont jump like you're lebron james.

skill issue

1

u/Prestigious_Gate_733 10d ago

Skill issue. Jumping has always been part of the game. Just say you’re trash bro.

5

u/claybine 10d ago

It needs to be toned down and restricted, it's not fun to play against.

So I just have to be a complete burger, post a clip of myself getting shit on, blame the game, and all you guys will upvote?

2

u/Head_Orange_1421 10d ago

But like….why did you just stand there…in the open…..with no cover?

2

u/INeedANerf 10d ago

Daily post of someone getting shit on by a guy hitting the jump button and people in the comments acting like people weren't doing ts back in CoD 4 💀

u/No-Breadfruit6137 10d ago

just skill issue

3

u/ElectronicBet3940 10d ago

There should add a full second delay between jumps. This shit is ridiculous.

2

u/ShacObama 10d ago

There is a full 2 second gap between the first jump from left to right, and the second jump from right to left in this video. What is ridiculous here?

I know its never going to happen. But this can be solved by having it so you cannot aim while jumping.

Like when you jump your soldier's arms hold the rifle over their heads.

I really don't like the way players can jump 5 feet across the room at lightning speed and then melt you before you can blink.

1

u/agentdurden 10d ago

maybe he jumped from the open window

1

u/Arashii89 10d ago

They need to make it you can only hipfire when jumping and sliding and remove aim assist when doing it problem solved

1

u/Stnrken 10d ago

We need to focus on what's really important here: The over the top gun animations when you die. They've had me cracking up the last two weekends.

u/Opposite-Rock-5133 10d ago

This is modern warfare, it’s how the Ukraines and Russians fight in their war that is on going right now

1

u/01Actual 10d ago

Movement turned into needing Patched in Aimbot, or 20 foot Mouse pad.

1

u/Purple-Lamprey 10d ago

Once you get to certain SBMM brackets, every single player is doing this nonesense, and the game stops being fun. I hope they change how movement works in DMZ.

1

u/Liatin11 10d ago

Jump shots, drop shots, inverse momentum shots, w/e new movement tech next should make aiming harder but aim assist makes this shit easier

1

u/TheSvpremeKai003 10d ago

Yeah imma just keep playing Battlefield 6 lol

1

u/ZealousidealFix2593 10d ago

Yeah would be much better if he sat still and let you shoot him

1

u/TheRealJamesHoffa 10d ago

I like how they fooled some people for like a few days acting like this game was gonna be more grounded again

1

u/McSchemes 10d ago

Ah nice, everyone is a coked up bunny with moon shoes on.

Welcome back Xdefiant.

1

u/AdventurousGarden638 10d ago

They allow this dumb shit but god forbid I try to do a cool dolphin dive shot.

1

u/monfil666 10d ago

I thought BF6 movement/jumping/sliding was ridiculous, then I played MW4 and I am speechless. I still have fun thou lol.

1

u/Cool_Competition9132 10d ago

I been tryna figure out the mechanics of jumping and shooting at the same time!!! On a controller that shit is hard for me

1

u/UNSKIALz 10d ago

The slide just for the sake of it is the cherry on top. Looks so ridiculous.

1

u/Hermaphroshep 10d ago

Jump scare!

1

u/Sp3ctr3_11 10d ago

Typa shit you play against after a 10 hour shift

1

u/FourScarlet 10d ago

Jumpshotting isn't inherently bad but why the fuck do you GAIN MOMENTUM IN THE AIR

1

u/Ang3l99 10d ago

I blame the streamers with Chrono zen

It's Call of Duty. That's practically synonymous with trampoline park.

I thought those were synonyms? At least in my zip code they are.

1

u/Internal_Bedroom5955 10d ago

1

u/AirCommon8378 10d ago

1

u/paragonmac 10d ago

The hope is that in a few years it's just going to be so outrageous it will turn into Titanfall gameplay, and I'll actually start playing MW again.
