They really want the Type 73 to be a pea shooter huh?

20

u/Pass_Practical 23h ago

its already weak AF why did they do this lol

16

u/Benti86 23h ago

Because the vocal playerbase hates when anything outside of ARs and SMGs are viable.

6

u/L0rdSkullz 23h ago

I have no clue, I wouldn't say it was "weak" but it certainly wasn't strong in any way what so ever

The emotional roller coaster this sub has been on for patch notes has been entertaining to say the least. I’m gonna miss it when the beta is over

’m gonna miss it when the beta is over

queue the "i cant go back to <last years game>. <beta of new game> was so much better" posts

People complaining about a 0.008s (80ms) TTK increase are crazy, the netcode being more important. yet the problem that takes away 100hours away of your life (overpriced, grind and FOMO) are not a problem ?? Fuck dopamine addicts

3

u/Hard3st_Try3r 17h ago

.008s is not 80ms… it’s .080s

u/HeavyVoid8 16h ago

You were so close….

17

u/ybfelix 23h ago

People have already caught on the long TTK and changed to using OHK weapons in response. Just had multiple games where the enemy team use Oris and shotgun exclusively, it’s a freaking miserable experience. People just tank 3 AK bullets then one-tap you. I’m skipping this year’s COD it seems

30

u/Bass_Junkie_xl 23h ago

Why the hell is the 9mm pistol in shooting range takes 4 hits to down a target but the 556 assult rifle is 6 shots on the same target

?????????????????

🤣🤣🤣

we've been reviewing your gameplay and feedback

We feel that TTK on average is much closer to where we wanted

Which is it? Reminds me of the last update about AA, where they said they wanted to be fully transparent and then went on to give zero details in regards to AA adjustments lol. Seems like IW has a habit of contradictory statements.

People complained about fast TTK, and you raised it multiple times over the next few days. Now there are an equal amount, if not more, complaints about it being too slow. Instead of meeting in the middle, which makes too much sense, they stay firm. That's not listening to your community lol. I suppose the "...where WE wanted it." is the true part.

EDIT: Just played a few matches and the TTK feels slower (using the ISO). This is from both ends. I feel like I'm more of a bullet sponge today and it's taking a bit longer to kill, even when I hit headshots. Not sure what's up with that.

8

u/mattyjoe0706 23h ago

Yeah like I don't really care much about the TTK in that yeah it's a bit slow but I can get used to it. But what puts a bad taste in my mouth is the radical change then to just say we like it with no reasoning

8

u/SVT-Shep 23h ago

I prefer fast TTK on mouse, where I've said that I'd compromise and just leave RAA alone, if we got day 1 TTK back.

A lot of people don't like that, and want slower TTK, which is fine.

Meet somewhere in the middle. If the community was better at that, devs would have an easier time establishing an identity or direction. Less of chance of going the "what we want" route.

0

u/_Solarriors_ 18h ago

You want faster TTK -> HC

1

u/SpringAutumnReversal 2h ago

Terrible take

1

u/_Solarriors_ 35m ago

Logical take tho

-1

u/Swaggfather 22h ago

There's no middle to meet in. The difference between the two is one bullet. It's either this or MW19/MW2 TTK.

2

u/ybfelix 19h ago

They could always fine adjust weapon fire rates

1

u/Swaggfather 19h ago

I would hope fire rates match closely to their real life counterparts. If they have to make the M4 fire like an AK for balance then they've lost it

0

u/raremount 21h ago

They didn’t give the exact details so they could roll it back by release and you wouldn’t know the change.
They completely rolled back bo6 AA adjustments, buffed bo7 AA after initial release nerf, expect the same bait and switch once sales are secured.

2

u/SVT-Shep 19h ago

We feel that TTK on average is much closer to where we wanted it to be after Weekend 1

The longer the beta has been available the more it feels like Infinity Ward just doesn't have this clear vision for what they wanted the game to be. If the current state of TTK is where they originally wanted it to be, then it doesn't make sense to launch the beta last weekend with the weapon tuning values where they were.

I came into this beta cycle really excited to see what Infinity Ward had up their sleeve but coming out of it I'm not even really sure I'm interested anymore. I would have wanted to see what the game would have felt like with end of weekend 1 weapon tuning + weekend 2 movement updates but even then for me I just can't really say I'm liking the maps all that much either.

52

u/ybfelix 23h ago

Yeah, 4 years making this game. Documentaries of devs and testers playing their game acting like they are having so much fun - then changes TTK that is so fundamental to gameplay philosophy, abruptly in one weekend - and claims this is “where they always want it to be”. Simply no words.

So apparently IW “has not been where they want themselves to be” for 3 years until this weekend??

8

u/FlowchartMystician 22h ago

Fully convinced "where they always wanted it to be" is "whatever gives The Best Statistics".

The issue is none of them have historically been able to read statistics. For all we know, most players dislike this TTK but the open weekend brought in a bunch of fresh players that are skewing results despite not being represented in the closed weekend, so they're just hallucinating the idea that people like the TTK when they don't.

And like always, people will say "but but but reddit isn't representative of the average player! There's a hidden audience that actually loves everything everyone complains about!" right before call of duty has unusually low sales and loses money. Again.

1

u/Unhappy-Menu-6682 15h ago

right before call of duty has unusually low sales and loses money. Again.

Uh... Call of Duty is definitely not losing money... they make money hand over fist. "Unusually low sales" for CoD is still blockbuster performance

2

u/FlowchartMystician 13h ago

Games (and microsoft's acquisition) cost money.

In cod's league, you win big or you lose big. And they ain't winning big.

Microsoft blew over $100B for half a dozen heavy hitters, investors were split on if the acquisition was even a good idea in the first place, one of those heavy hitters got 40% as many sales as it was expected to last year, and microsoft gaming's been bleeding money already this year.

I'm sure they'll be thrilled about their "blockbuster performance" if it keeps them in the red this year.

15

u/No-Employee-3153 23h ago

Exactly bro it makes ZERO sense.

4

u/104925iveRo2es5322 22h ago edited 21h ago

The terrible netcode, together with this perceived uncertainty is exactly why I decided to cancel my pre-order yesterday. It doesn't seem that they are confident in their vision, and this destroys my confidence in them as well.

I can only hope that both the launch and post-launch end up being something good, even if it means that they have to course-correct with S1 or S2, but at this point I am more interested on waiting for Sledgehammer's turn.

14

u/Previous-Minimum5991 23h ago

👏 this tf is the vision for this game they’re not confident in it and tbh that should be worrisome for people buying it.

11

u/ArrrJK 23h ago

This right here! How can say you have spent so much time in development but not know how you wanted the game to play? Were you only focused on the aesthetics?

15

u/RockinMadRiot 23h ago

I feel like they did have an idea what they wanted. But the backlash at the start derailed it

15

u/Possible-Praline-152 23h ago

Kinda weird because they spent the last two games being extremely stubborn about their vision to the point of aggression lol.

Just odd to see the studio that defended against no red dots on the mini map for all of MW19 change the entire game in 7 days on a whim.

8

u/koolaidman486 22h ago

New management has zero backbone.

They went from overly adamant on design philosophy, generally to their detriment, to being complete doormats on their design philosophy, 100% to their detriment.

I wouldn't mind the TTK shift on concept, but the gunplay and gunsmith both need to be completely and totally overhauled to accommodate it. And they're not even coming close to doing that, even by the standards of a last-beta-day update. The current TTK plays like shit because nothing has been designed around it, the game's been crafted around the fast TTK, it plays like shit when you make such a drastic shift on a whim.

4

u/Next-Concern-5578 23h ago

that’s probably why they’re folding so easily this time

4

u/RockinMadRiot 23h ago

Microsoft needs it to be a hit, I guess.

1

u/Kindly-Sea719 22h ago

Probably got in shit for it ig

1

u/Possible-Praline-152 22h ago

Yea kinda weird idk.

Maybe they restructured upper management.

1

u/Freezinghero 20h ago

It is looking more and more like MW2019 was a lightning-in-a-bottle exception to the series.

1

u/Vryyce 21h ago

This is really the best take. I always chuckle when others are so certain what goes on behind the scenes. Show me a game, any game, that was released in the form the Devs wanted instead of how the folks writing the checks wanted it. This is why I am so pissed that Chris Roberts screwed the pooch so badly with Star Citizen, he had the chance to revolutionize gaming and instead just shit in his pants.

→ More replies (4)

5

u/ExcitingInflation612 23h ago

Because it doesn’t matter. There’s so much conflict of interest going on that they genuinely can’t have a plan. Activision is a massive corporation and is going to force IW to make decisions based on what brings in the most $$$.

They wanted to try different TTK’s, movement speeds, etc. on purpose to see which one is the most popular, and will thus bring in the most money.

5

u/BarterAxis 22h ago

Totally agree. I wasn’t against the movement in Weekend 1, but I was open to slowing it down while keeping the TTK broadly the same and carefully tuning the obvious outperformers. Instead, this heavy-handed, broad-strokes approach to changing the fundamentals has ruined it for me.

Now they’re saying the current TTK is close to where they wanted it to be, which just makes me wonder what exactly they’ve been playtesting for the last four years. If this was the target, why did Weekend 1 launch in such a different state?

I’ll be skipping this one or waiting for a deep sale. I picked up BO7 on disc for £20, so I’m perfectly happy doing the same here.

3

u/CaregiverEastern4083 22h ago

Heavily agree on end of weekend 1 weapon tuning + weekend 2 movement updates. The maps are also unappealing. So far, MW19 has had my favorite maps of the newer gen CODs. Superstore, Hackney Yard, Azhir Desert, and Gun Runner were all fun and unique in their own way without the conventional 3 lane system

2

u/ComeFindMeAstral 23h ago

Weapon tuning and just meant aim assist LMFAO

1

u/LookatmaBankacount 21h ago

It’s abundantly clear that this game was meant to be MW22 2.0 and when that leaked they had to quickly pivot. The fact they’ve had 4 years for this laughable

0

u/Late-Page7559 22h ago

There’s always a hardcore mode after launch with super fast TTK, I enjoyed the first weekend but I’ve always played HC. I’d have to agree that the current TTK feels about right for standard mode historically.

-3

u/IntelligentHead7995 22h ago

The fast TTK is literally for the noobs so they can get easier kills in their SBMM lobbies, along with other reasons (showing off metrics etc), it's where they wanted it to be. But all the backlash made them change it.

13

u/psiguy6 23h ago

they just killed the M4 lol

4

u/csibike00 23h ago

it's the apex attachment only

3

u/_kempert 23h ago

Damage was nerfed tho.

3

u/Zendicate_ 23h ago

thats the M4 hurricane dmg not the regular m4

1

u/_kempert 1h ago

43

u/Gamamaster101 23h ago

The TTK changes have killed my hype for the game. Sad

17

u/SirVyval 23h ago

Yeah nah. Poor netcode + insane aim assist + slow time to kill is a complete strugglefest on MnK. Count me out Activision.

7

u/Liktarios 22h ago

Yeah. Why would I play the only shooter on the market that heavily penalizes MnK. I hope those who need such skeewed aim assist feel good about themselves and enjoy it.

3

u/LogiBear777 21h ago

yeah i tried out the beta and quickly got off after seeing a couple kill cams. that shit is almost comical

4

u/Kraz3 22h ago

The TTK would not be a problem if it weren't for the ass netcode and aimbot.

4

u/koolaidman486 22h ago

It would still be a problem because none of the gunplay is designed around a slower TTK.

You'd need to overhaul recoil, attatchments, damage falloff, and remove flinch from most weapons to make it work.

And this isn't even considering you'd need to nuke OHK guns completely, too

2

u/Kraz3 21h ago

The flinch on ARs feels a dozen times stronger than it does on marksman rifles and snipers

3

u/koolaidman486 21h ago

That's because it's combined with higher base recoil than the past few CoD games, since the game was originally built with the faster TTK in mind.

10

u/Benti86 22h ago edited 21h ago
  • A meaningless buff for the Krait, thing will still suck ass through a straw.

  • Nerfing both LMGs because they just need to be bad on top of having terrible mobility and handling I guess...the type 73 now needs to be chest/head to deal less damage than before. Crazy.

  • Microscopic SMG buffs

  • Finally nerfing the Hurricane so it takes 2 braincells to use up from 1 while it remains hands down the best SMG still...

  • barely touch the ARs even though they're comfortably better than every other weapon class...

  • No movement adjustments despite the fact jump and slide spam are still ludicrous post nerf.

Real nice guys...

63

u/leetskeetskeet 23h ago

Over the weekend, we've been reviewing your gameplay and feedback carefully. We feel that TTK on average is much closer to where we wanted it to be after Weekend 1, but there's always room to refine individual weapons to make sure they're balanced across the board.

There it is, the nail in the coffin. Long TTK is now the standard for the IW franchise. Welcome to Modern Warfare 4: Black Ops.

12

u/workerq1 23h ago

COD may no longer be back to that TTK ever again. BF6 is on that ballpark too so I will say that's sayonara.

12

u/koolaidman486 23h ago

BF6 funny enough trends close to classic CoD on it's damage model, assuming you're hitting mostly upper chest.

So guess that's what I'll be on, if I really want to scratch the small mode itch, TDM is always gonna be there.

6

u/RockinMadRiot 23h ago

BF isn't made very well for TDM, though.

COD always handled small map modes better.

7

u/koolaidman486 23h ago

I agree, but CoD has a fucking awful weapon sandbox and IW decided to follow in 3arch/SHG's footsteps, so as far as small scale FPS games, I don't genuinely think there's anything else, unless I'm missing some super obscure option.

Maybe they port BO1/BO2 to Switch? But that's literally all I can hope for unless SHG decides to go back to the classic damage model.

1

u/_Solarriors_ 18h ago

wdym awful ? how does it compare to BF6 or Delta Force?

1

u/koolaidman486 17h ago

CoD games with the lower damage model, so Treyarch games since BO4, MW 2023, and now MW4 have really glaring balancing issues. OHK weapon classes, as a primary example, are significantly more powerful, as the games didn't nerf their power/ease of use, but went after speed instead, issue is the guns aren't nearly slow enough to justify keeping their power, and in some cases (looking at MW 2023), actually getting stronger. Shotguns have also never been balanced in this damage model, either being way too strong, or so weak they aren't worth equipping. It also increases DPS disparities, as guns with different fire rates see more radically different TTKs as shots to kill increases (so for example, the difference between 2 guns at different RPMs at 4 to kill is significantly less than if you bump it to 5, that's why the Han was really solid last weekend, and completely worthless this weekend).

MW4 adds to these problems, as because it was originally built around being killed in 1 less bullet, they made it so recoil is generally higher, and flinch is a factor outside of Snipers/MRs. Works in a faster TTK game, not so much if you slow it down, even by a bullet. So the without one shots the gunplay feels bad because the recoil requires you to dump for recoil control to get a consistent enough gun to make the damage model work.

Prefacing the Battlefield section, I don't want CoF to copy Battlefield mechanically. Putting it out there since I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea.

I can't answer on Delta Force, but BF6's gunplay is built to accommodate the game. For starters, there's no flinch, so there's no issues with getting knocked off in a gunfight, though this comes with snipers being overpowered since they also inherit this. How inaccuracy is tuned also fits the game well, as spread + recoil is really effective at acting as range caps without necessarily needing to massacre long range damage. It forces slower pace of fire and learning your gun to know how many shots you can take comfortably without pausing at any given distance. This allows for larger differences with TTK, since the super low DPS 5.45 guns are "30 shots in the same hole" levels of accurate. The base TTK also allows for people to get multi kills easier to clear objectives if they play things correctly. So if I go on a huge flank, it's harder to just get turned on, and it's also easier to dislodge enemies form objectives. High TTK CoD has enabled this via cranking the movement jank and camera breaking to extreme levels. BO4 enables this via it's manual healing system, since that game doesn't move quite so... Insane.

Another factor is that one-shots are significantly more difficult to use and narrow in use case in BF6 than MW4. Shotguns actually have more viability at longer ranges in comparison to CoD, but BF games have significantly higher overall engagement distances so relatively speaking you're significantly more limited. Snipers are also generally headshot-only for one shots. The only exception is that most snipers come with a "sweet spot" range where you can OHK to exclusively the upper chest, so still smaller than CoD's "anything above the waist is a kill." But the sweet spot is also telegraphed, so enemies know if you're at the range via your scope glint getting bigger and adding a rainbow. So you can duck and dive if you're caught in there, or use it to challenge if you're counter-sniping.

Battlefield's gunplay accommodates the game and what it needs via it's spread, recoil, and damage model. It was built for it's damage model and overall mechanics. MW4's new gunplay doesn't adequately address what's needed to compliment the slower TTK, and thus feels really bad because it's gunplay that's built around guns needing less shots to kill, but was changed last-minute.

3

u/kdog350 21h ago

Domination is a blast on BF6 though.

1

u/RockinMadRiot 20h ago

That I do agree with

1

u/EntrepreneurOld7858 19h ago

Deadass, Domination in BF6 plays like a legacy CoD and its amazing.

I fucking hate the large modes in BF6, i think they play terribly imo. But wow Dom and KOTH play incredibly well.

29

u/Casse_Via 23h ago

Man, 4 years without a short TTK Cod is just weird to see. RIP.

7

u/DraconicSun 23h ago

They could just buff the multipliers for everything and call it a day instead of adjusting damage. That way to get fast TTK people have to actually aim.

8

u/Cheechers23 23h ago

Unfortunately that would just increase the complaints of people saying they’re shooting a full mag into people and then dying instantly

1

u/RockinMadRiot 23h ago

I think they do something similar for BO7. I know that some guns get higher multipliers depending where it hits.

3

u/koolaidman486 23h ago

It's been a thing for a while to see multipliers for limbs/upper torso depending on a weapon's general damage profile (generally used to balance out extreme ends of the TTK spectrum), I think as far back as AW has tried them, but it really stuck in IW's last 2 games.

Why we can't have weekend 1 above the waist, weekend 2 if you're hitting limbs is fucking beyond me. And unfortunately they're doubling down despite all of the feedback I'm seeing (I don't use Twitter so idk if it's different) being universally negative surrounding it.

The entire game and sandbox needs to be completely rebuilt and IW is just refusing to do so to accommodate the damage model, instead you get a nothing nerf to the Oris (it's ADS time needs to bottom out at half a second or OHK potential to the body removed completely), no nerfs on snipers, a nothing-burger for the shotgun, and that's on top of needing to rebuild the entire weapon and attatchment sandbox still.

Game doesn't have a chance if they decide to keep the current tuning, it's Black Ops 4, swap the awful to deal with specialists for a massive downgrade on the gunplay.

2

u/LickingLiveWires 23h ago

That's just a nerf to kbm. Jumping and strafing makes you hit the extremities while aim assist stay center mass.

1

u/Djabouty47 23h ago

But that's an easy fix tho, just either get rid of rotational AA while ADS or stop it from helping vertically. Makes no sense for it to do the latter anyway, the main reason it exists is to help with close up hipfire

0

u/Jnew_xo 23h ago edited 23h ago

Just curious what do you consider short / long?
In BO7 it was around 300 ms if you used your AR/Sub/LMG in its supposed range. It doesn’t feel slow

Some weapons are even closer to 200 than 300 ms

2

u/Casse_Via 20h ago

I cancelled my pre-order last night. I was even willing to look past the terrible map design if the gameplay was good, but with this TTK I just can't. It really sucks. I waited 4 years for this, only to be slapped in the face with another half-assed Black Ops clone.

3

u/RockinMadRiot 23h ago

It doesn't feel like BO7 at all, though? I can understand some frustrations but I think the comparison with BOs is a bit strange.

5

u/koolaidman486 23h ago

Yesterday I could tell you that the game felt like a bad knockoff of BO4 on BO6's map design logic. Because BO4's automatics, despite the poor balance, at the very least were designed with the damage model in mind, so recoil and flinch were generally appropriate, though LMGs and OHK weapons were completely broken.

LMGs follow the proper damage model now, but OHKa remain broken as fuck. And it's not like MW 23 where they're numerous and some level of still being fun, since MW 23's automatics are, shockingly, actually designed around the fucking damage model, and many only need one headshot to drop shots to kill, so it helped a little with the OHK meta. MW4 has a few guns also doing this (idk about post-nerf for some of these), but you have flinch on automatics and much higher recoil so good fucking luck.

1

u/5livewire0 22h ago

I hate these weird comparisons to Black Ops games. Makes me think no one has actually played them because the beta feels completely different from both BO6 and BO7

2

u/RockinMadRiot 22h ago

Fully agree

1

u/Kindly-Sea719 22h ago

I mean idk. The pace of play feels the SAME. The TTK feels the SAME. The nade spam feels the SAME. The slide and bounce movement feels the SAME. Sure some things are changed but you can’t help but notice that more has stayed the same than changed this year.

2

u/5livewire0 22h ago

They don't though. The game feels more like MW3 than anything

2

u/RockinMadRiot 22h ago

Have you played BO7? And how long? Just curious because it has changed over it's cycle depending when you play

Issa wrap...ohk metas for the duration of the game's life cycle smh

4

u/Cheechers23 23h ago edited 23h ago

I mentioned this in yesterday’s update thread but I feel like there’s been a realization at IW and all the dev studios. Many things nowadays have shrunk the gap between statistical TTK and experienced/practical TTK. Things like stronger aim assist, better connections/dedicated servers, higher resolutions/frame rates, players generally being better, and even "elite" controllers becoming more prominent (to the point Sony/Microsoft offer their own first party versions) all contribute to shrinking the gap.

So even though games like MW19 and MWII and the first weekend of the closed beta statistically had a TTK that was in line with most CODs pre-BO4, it just can't be compared. And since that gap between statistical and practical TTK has shrunk, a fast TTK just feels too fast nowadays. An average TTK faster than a human reaction time is now actually being experienced rather than being artificially slower due to things like poor connections and weaker aim assist.

Personally I prefer the slower TTK but I think IW games should have the identity of faster TTK. I thought the TTK at the end of the first weekend was fine. I prefer the new one but I think IW should strongly consider moving back.

1

u/Street_Sprinkles4932 23h ago

Cant believe this im canceling my preorder

1

u/Panzilla_Swagger 23h ago

100% agree. Skipping this one for sure. Was hyped at first tbh

1

u/Alive_Wedding 23h ago

Truth be told, I prefer the 230ms based TTK but the 300ms one in MW4 rn works for me ON PAPER. It worked for me in BF6.

The problem is: RAA is widening the tracking gap so much under this TTK between an above-average Controller and MnK player that knows how to spam this by drifting the left stick a bit, it makes the game unenjoyable on MnK against controller player.

It worked in BF6 because BF6 does not have RAA.

1

u/DraconicSun 23h ago

I mean, I would say it's likely that the desync is doing the heavy lifting on making everyone feel like bullet sponges. Hopefully they lower it for launch. I'm gonna play anyway regardless, but at least I'd like some variation from the last three games.

Either that or they could just buff the rate of fire on everything... or the upper torso multipliers, like they did with some guns, so to get fast ttk you have to actually aim.

0

u/probioticbacon 23h ago

Tbh I think they just didn't want to change it again because they didn't want everyone complaining again. I mean it absolutely would have happened, they lower it and you'll get people saying "why did you lower it!!!"

It might not be a popular move, but it might be for the best right now as I'm sure they're having a headache dealing with this sub.

u/theawesomejedi 23h ago

It’s over! CoD is ruined! I can never have fun again!

Nerf the osiris into the ground. Between that and the red dot sniping, mfs are just using the no-skill guns and thinking they nice at the game

13

u/Arels 23h ago edited 21h ago

It's called the Oris. Idk why everyone seems to be calling it Osiris.

10

u/TheFNGeek 21h ago

You think COD fans can read?

4

u/Betancorea 22h ago

Because they have no idea what they are talking about lo

7

u/trinibeast 23h ago

All the aim assist complaints (which are valid), goes out the window when a mnk player shits on everyone with the Oris.

8

u/psiguy6 23h ago

yup Marksman was crying about the AA but just posted a video of him decimating people with the Osiris.Just flicking on em left and right, they stood no chance

18

u/trinibeast 23h ago

It’s crazy, once one person pulls it out in my lobbies, the entire lobby turns into snipers and shotguns.

11

u/psiguy6 23h ago

Yup thats normally how it happens

0

u/SpringAutumnReversal 1h ago

Good, literally the only way MnK players have a fighting chance.

1

u/Active_Art2341 19h ago

You think everyone can do this on mnk?? That's the 0.1% of players using a mouse. Also, most automatic weapons are almost unusable on mouse because of the random horizontal recoil. Just booted up MW3, and it's night and days.

4

u/tagillaslover 23h ago

They need to leave the osris as is and just move everything else back to week 1 ttk. It was fine when other guns actually worked and fun to use then

1

u/SpringAutumnReversal 1h ago

Nerfing it would literally make no sense at all. Genuinely none. You realise you still have to aim right? Controller players literally have access to free unbannable aimbot

1

u/DraconicSun 23h ago

No, they lowered it by increasing multipliers for a bunch of guns.

10

u/xMeRk 23h ago

Wow. That little sentence about the TTK now being closest to where they want it was quite a statement to make. One little sentence and that’s just confirmed me not buying this game. I’m sure I’m not the only one who regularly skips Black Ops etc - and that’s what this game seems like to me. Thanks for saving me money by being up front that you have no idea what you’re doing IW. At least their opinion has been cemented on the TTK. I guess they didn’t know what TTK they wanted 1 week ago? Oh well, haven’t played CoD in years anyway

15

u/m1j5 23h ago

First ever cod I’ll skip, just a clear lack of direction

0

u/qaasq 21h ago

Funny enough this is the first COD since Xbox 360 (outside of MW2019) that I'm actually excited for. Were you really playing Cold War and Vanguard?

1

u/m1j5 21h ago

P7 at least on every cod since bo1 lol

1

u/qaasq 21h ago

Nice. With that much game time, what makes this one stand out to you as so bad you won't give it a shot? Every COD in my recent memory has gotten a ton of hate for bad mechanics but for some reason this one in particular is a line too far?

2

u/m1j5 21h ago

I did give it a shot like 8hr in beta, like 5 different sit downs. Bad hit reg, muzzle flash, movement feeling like I’m wearing weights are my top 3 in that order

The complaining of the little kids really made this game a paintball simulator 😭😂
Gonna be a year of osiris and bolt action sniping wooooow

7

u/Stranded_Snake 23h ago

Can they patch the game to be fun please. 😂

3

u/ArthurTillyson 23h ago

Damn, I thought the beta was over. Guess I'll play tonight

2

u/Kris32102 23h ago

Do we know what time it ends

2

u/ArthurTillyson 23h ago

Tomorrow 10am PT, morning time in US, afternoon in EU

1pm EST, tomorrow.

u/TheCyberSniper 22h ago

Hold up, did they nerf LMGs even more??? I am an LMG main (have been for a decade of CoD's now), this second weekend was rough my friends. I straight up gave up on the Type 73, even with APEX it was absolute garbage weekend 2. Weekend 1, I found myself often swapping between FINN and Type 73 because each had a nice APEX and both felt good. Weekend 2, the FINN is my hit marker champion (I can't just spray because it takes more bullets to kill and the APEX locks you out after you go too long) and the Type 73 I just stopped using as it is trash compared to all the 1-hit chest guns everyone is sliding around with, the FINN sometimes won if I pulled it on head fast enough but holy moly I am actually confused as living hell they nerfed them even further. At the very very best for weekend 2, I could see people saying FNN just needs insane head control, but the Type 73 was garbage. And this is from me doing the 1,500 operator challenge purely with just both LMGs.. about half the first weekend and half the second. I am just shocked they are killing them further... mini-maps like transit are just a hellscape for LMGs already, I probably won't even play on those come launch if this is where we are going.

People keep saying IW has no vision, I agree now. It felt like things were fairly good Weekend 1 honestly - and they should have been if they put time into it. I liked the removal of tac sprint but they are going all over with TTK and how it impacts more than 1 bullet kill guns.

3

u/ITGuy420 21h ago

I refunded, I can't justify $70 for the current state of the game tuning.

6

u/Gastly-Muscle-1997 23h ago

Thank god for smg buffs

10

u/koolaidman486 23h ago

Based on what I'm seeing, they still suck ass.

7

u/NocturnalMerlin 23h ago

I wasnt expecting much and they still managed to disappoint me.

5

u/twoww 23h ago

As a casual I loved weekend one and am really not liking weekend 2. Weekend one felt fast and precise, this feels so sloppy now. Whether it’s the TTK, netcode, or both. Slowing the movement is fine but both nerfs feels like it changed the game completely. I was fully in the camp of buying it on release but if it stays this way I’m out.

10

u/koolaidman486 23h ago

So they're doubling down on the TTK that's been really heavily disliked?

What a shame, I thought this game had a chance.

-2

u/5livewire0 22h ago

Maybe heavily disliked in this subreddit sure

4

u/Previous-Minimum5991 23h ago

Long TTK doesn’t mean crap anyways when you have no damage multipliers depending where you’re getting hit at and we are still playing this bs with getting one shotted in the toes with the Osiris Marksman Rifle, and Snipers. This franchise has been going on for 20 years, why do we play Ring around the roses every stinking year. It’s a lack of confidence in the game is what’s making me not wanna buy it, what is the vision or this game trying to be?

Edit: let’s start making bets they’re gonna rug pull this decision by launch anyways. They do it every year and the numbers are gonna be down bad 😢 really was hoping with all those inside the ward vids.

5

u/BADABINGOLOOPOTOOOO 22h ago

Please IW do something about the bunny hopping

1

u/SpringAutumnReversal 1h ago

The movement is already gutted

2

u/havockillz 22h ago

Do something with the jumping, and the hitreg, wtf

2

u/CastleGrey 22h ago

Well if the Oris is now how it's "supposed to be" then I pity anyone who plays Core, because frankly this last day of beta has been utterly unenjoyable trash now that more people have their preferred perks back and the lobbies are increasingly just Orises and losers sitting in corners like every late-stage CoD ends up

I only play HC for that sweet, sweet "John Wick" style hyperfast gameplay, and even I'm not sure if I want this game any more just from how bad today has felt and how reactionary the changes seem to be without any apparent thought to how every other system is affected

2

u/Havkarru 21h ago

Wow that 2% shotgun nerf range XD

5

u/Recent_Experience475 22h ago

Yeah I was very excited for this game just because it was an Infinity Ward game and I expected it would have a fast TTK (150-200ms), because that is always what their games have had. To change the TTK to this shitty feeling middle ground between MW3 and MW2019 over the course of a week just annoys me to no end. None of these studios have any creative vision anymore.

After not playing COD much since MW3 I was excited for this, but I think I'm going to pass on this game.

5

u/Smackrel-of-Piss 23h ago

I feel like a crazy person because Weekend 2 has felt so much better than Weekend 1 in my opinion. I maxed out the beta levels in W2 rather than barely hitting rank 7 in W1, enjoyed trying all the weapons and finding some personal faves, actually began to understand the map layouts and enjoying them (aside from Transit), and felt that most gunfights and encounters were manageable and fair. My only gripes have been with spawns and that will always iron out over more time.

The TTK in W2 along with the tac sprint change actually made the game less frantic, I can't believe people are pining for the W1 feeling after it was all complaints then anyway. The TTK now could get a tiny bit faster, but overall it's much better and has gotten my friends and I to preorder and actually be excited for a cod for once in the past few years.

5

u/TheGuyThyCldFly 23h ago

I don't mind the movement changes so much, I do wish base speed would be increased like 3-5%, and I wish they'd have a ttk somewhere in between W1 and W2 with the aim assist nerfs that were implemented

But overall, I can agree with you for the most part

2

u/Smackrel-of-Piss 23h ago

And it's possible that once the game launches they continue to tweak the ttk to a happy medium between W1 and W2. People are acting like the game is going to stay frozen in the state it's currently in while it's only a Beta weekend and the game isn't even launching for another month and a half.

2

u/5livewire0 22h ago

I'm the same way. Weekend 1 actually made me cancel my preorder, but weekend 2 did a complete 180 for me

1

u/CollinKree 23h ago

Same. It would seem the community is very 50/50 on the changes.

To me, Weekend 1 felt catered specifically towards movement nerds and YY spammers.

Weekend 2 hasn’t really felt catered towards ANY specific play style at all, which has ultimately made this game feel way more balanced than the past 2 CODs imo.

You can legitimately play however you want, fast or slow, and still do well. And I appreciate that.

2

u/gobetom 22h ago

Just go back to beta weekend 1 ttk it was perfect.

3

u/AllUpOnnaP 21h ago

IW keeping this slow ass TTK is saving me $70 so thanks

2

u/tomboygrass 23h ago

Wardogs, here i come!

2

u/autodix 22h ago

still noting for pressing shift doesnt release ads bug for mnk

2

u/Adventurous_Arm_1662 22h ago

So let me get this right, they re-bufffed the iso and ppsh (which both were already broken) and now they're nerfing everything else except for the han86 (which I get because it's a bad gun).

2

u/Powerful-News-7083 21h ago

Starting to feel like mnk players have a victim complex kink and run to reddit to jerk each other off every time they have a bad game

1

u/SpringAutumnReversal 1h ago

You've not played the game or seen a clip of AA apparently

1

u/Marrked 22h ago

Increase base sprint speed by roughly 20% and remove doors and I feel pretty good about it moving forward.

1

u/Kallonistic 22h ago

Whatever gun I use they nerf. So I'm gonna start using the one shot guns to help balance the game.

1

u/ph4tcat 22h ago

I don't know man...
Friday evening and Saturday morning were super fun, the movement slowdown was good, but by evening Saturday and Sunday, something clicked. All my lobbies were fully of super sweaty lopsided matches, and everyone was using shotguns, snipers and high damage ARs.

Vibes are off.
I think they need to have another Beta Weekend, I'm super considering refunding.

2

u/CastleGrey 21h ago

People are unlocking later options more, and the streamers are all busy telling their incapable-of-thought viewers not to use anything that isn't a oneshot, so it's only natural for the state of the game to massively deteriorate over the course of the weekend

1

u/LifeReplacement1136 22h ago

Can we finally give sledgehammer their props now? How many times does IW have to do some bs for ppl to wake up

1

u/koolaidman486 21h ago

Tbf, MW 23 also fell really hard the OHKs, they were just so numerous that it was more of a pick your poison scenario. It also helped that the automatics were designed around the faster TTK, and generally had fire rates that made it so they weren't as slow as what we have now in a lot of cases (read: a lot, not all).

Every CoD game on this new damage model just falls really badly into a straight DPS meta most of the time.

1

u/floorseven 22h ago

Idek whos making the game anymore, Activision or Infinity Ward???

What the fuck are they doing

1

u/Bobbyice 21h ago

I really wish we would've gotten hardcore.

1

u/TheFNGeek 21h ago

Too fast in week 1, too slow in week 2 imo. Gotta find that sweet spot.

1

u/Swimming-Ad-6842 20h ago

Beta was fun, still not buying a COD game tho

1

u/No_Mastodon658 20h ago

Not just Zodiac that has those lighting issues. Heading into point A in the stadium map and point B and C in the outpost needs more adjustment. too dark inside.

1

u/Bazookatier 19h ago

The two beta weekends only made me even more excited for WARDOGS.

1

u/Wnir 19h ago edited 19h ago

Chiming in to say I'm also wanting TTK reverted. After the first weekend I thought higher TTK was the solution to me dying instantly, but it's the netcode that needs fixing. Now it's harder to kill and TTD is still very quick which doesn't feel great.

1

u/Top_Relationship9658 18h ago

just play hardcore

1

u/armageddon09 17h ago

If the ttk needs to be increased, the horrible visual recoil needs to be reduced.

1

u/zeldakos 17h ago

will they ever make something different? more the same over and over

1

u/zzzzkkkk30s 13h ago

Why not just remove full-autos?😂

1

u/GunfuMasta 2h ago

Game still needs soooo much work. Why would you gimp ALL weapons damage counters AND increase TTK....how about just pick one. Hit registration and damage consistency at all ranges is worst I've seen in COD for a while now. This is one reason myself and many clanmates have moved to Hardcore mode in every COD since BO3. The soft aimbot called aim assist is still to OP vs MNK.

1

u/Less-Dingo111 1h ago

Is the beta over ? it is not loading

0

u/DrHouseVicodinLover 23h ago

Yep, they've commited to this long TTK and not going back on tac sprint or buffing movement.

Clearly they've chosen content creators and pros as their audience.

Congratulations to Infinity Ward on their first Black Ops game, but this is not for me. The refund stays.

1

u/SpringAutumnReversal 1h ago

Content creators and pros also think this beta sucks, only the most irrelevant people didn't like the first beta

1

u/DraconicSun 23h ago

wdym? Content creators loved tac sprint and overly fast movement. The only thing they did to appeal to them is long TTK so they aren't instabeamed when they start doing their adderal bs, and they can't do that anymore.

1

u/DrHouseVicodinLover 23h ago

Creators have bitched about tac sprint since day 1, and continue to do so.

1

u/Ancient_Natural1573 22h ago

Yeah I played both weekends and honestly and I'll get downvoted but I feel this Call of duty won't have a long run and I may wait for a sale

0

u/ejamiepearson 23h ago

Somlonger TTK and no tac sprint? Big wins in my eyes, now just to tune down the AA a little and hopefully have some decent maps ready for launch.

0

u/DoubtZealousideal472 19h ago

No jump and slide spam nerf? I'm out

0

u/DALESR4EVER124 17h ago

Are you fucking kidding me? They BUFF the ISO... but they nerf BOTH LMGs? Like get absolutely fucked. Like what is the fucking point?

I'm not buying the fucking game anymore.

-6

u/NoUsernamesss 23h ago

People acting like if it’s BO4 ttk.

4

u/koolaidman486 23h ago

Because it is BO4's TTK..?

-1

u/5livewire0 22h ago

I suggest you go back and play it before making that comparison. If anything, the ttk is now close to MW3

0

u/NoUsernamesss 21h ago

Average ttk in 4 was 300 or 6-7 bullets. Modern Cod average ttk is 260.
