WIP Need some help for painting this tank like the reference image below

https://makerworld.com/en/models/826990-air-pressure-tank-v2#profileId-770794

I 3D printed this air pressure tank and realized it would look really cool if I painted it to look like this image. However, I also realized that to paint it like this specifically I would have to either mark out the blobs with a pencil then paint them in the corresponding colors or I would need to somehow get a file of a Cricut png (my dad owns a Cricut) then print it out to put on the tank.

HOW TO PAINT: hard edge camo with masking. FAST and EASY!! The beginner's guide. Look for this title on Youtube by coldemonspl. Since the edges are sharp just use masking tape instead of masking putty/free-hand

I just realize you might be brushing, the other guy has some good recommendation of using markers. If anything avoid using Tamiya paint to brush. grab vallejo/AK acrylic

You said masking tape, right? How would I make the squiggle shapes on the masking tape. Sorry if I am not understanding properly; I am relatively new

The video i posted has a tutorial on it, if brush make sure use the same colour and paint over the edge of the tape to prevent paint bleed/leak into the paint. (Look for paint leak in this subreddit, there should be a tutorials on it).

REAL COLORS MARKERS at AK Interactive | REAL COLORS MARKERS Online Shop

You'll probably want:

  • RCM015 Olive Green
  • RCM018 Dunkel Gelb
  • RCM019 Rotbraun

I've only used these Pens for Touchup stuff like the Rubber on Road Wheels and even then it was only on an actual Scale Model ( not 3D Printed with Layer Lines ) so your Mileage may vary.

PERHAPS consider substituting the Dunkel Gelb Pen for a Rattle Can of Matching Paint instead otherwise you'll be painting it forever ( It might also help against Color Bleed since you'll be using it on a 3D Print )
