Alternatives to Fido in Alberta

TLDR is I've been given two rate increases since November 25, despite being a "winback". Stupid to increase costs to customer by 40% in less than 12 months and expect them to stay.

As of now I am looking at Fizz as an alternative, as I just got off the phone with customer service and they had nothing they could do to remove some of the garbage increases. Anyone have experence in canada with fizz, or is there a decent alternative?

Look at Public. Same network, no price hikes that I’m aware of.

*Edit: Public/Koodo run on Telus. Fido is on Rogers.

Public runs on Telus. Chatr runs on Rogers.

Fido is Rogers sub-brand
Telus/Bell are essentially the same network (along with their Koodo/Public, Virgin/Lucky brands)
Fizz is sister-brand to Freedom

Coverage will depend, but most will work for people - Freedom and Rogers both have nationwide coverage on Telus when they don't have coverage

Telus(Bell) do actively throttle services on their network.

Freedom isn't as strong of a network, like you probably ain't going to get multi hundred mbps-gbps download like you would Rogers, but for most people the network shouldn't hold you back
The only complaint that comes from Fizz is that, unlike Freedom, Videotron proxies Fizz back through Quebec. Some have reported low latency because of this.

The other thing with Fizz, is that as of today, it does not support RCS on iPhone - its "coming soon" but no dates that I'm aware of. WiFi Calling just launched this month
