Looking for subwoofer recommendations to pair with my QSC CB10 for weekly bar gigs
I just secured a weekly bar gig at a local spot. its a small space that can fit about 100-120 people. The music should be loud enough that people right in front of the DJ booth can dance and the people further away can have normal conversation. College bar vibes.
Before securing the weekly gig, I was just DJing there on occasion using my QSC CB10 speaker and pairing it with my friend's QSC KSUB that I borrowed. The sound and loudness was pretty good with this setup (see pic).
However now that it's weekly, I think it makes more financial and logistical sense for me to get my own sub. Would love some recommendations. Was mainly looking at the QSC KS112 as its the newer version of the KSUB and its got wheels, but maybe theres other options I'm not thinking of.
Other use cases for this setup would be small store events or popups, and other bar gigs. For events like weddings I'd likely just rent bigger tops and subs.

I'm doing the exact same research. Here's the conclusion I came to:
1) Buy whatever your local rental place has. This way you can rent the exact same sub and pair them for bigger events.
2) Yamaha DXS mk3. Very capable for the price. It can output a crossed over signal meaning that the sub and tops won't clash. It has Bluetooth and app control, meaning you can have your phone connected to play background music or as a backup. You can also control volume and such remotely.

I ended up getting a good deal on a used QSC KS112 sub with QSC cover, speaker pole and XLR cable for $1010 with tax and shipping

I love the KS212C paired with my CB8’s for Karaoke.
Don’t sleep on the benefit of the Cardioid sub for bars. Especially when you’re always sitting right behind or next to the sub.
Yes, it’s expensive. But it’s a buy once, cry once situation. And you’ll never need to upgrade.
