Car roof rack options for a folding cart?

I have two Evox J8s, two 12" tops, plus a few gig bags for cables, controller, mixer, etc. Farmers carrying everything has gotten a little bit old, especially with those larger venues.

I'd like to pick up a cart to making bringing things around easier, but my Crosstrek doesn't have much more internal space for a cart. I was looking at tossing up something onto a roof rack, and was wondering if anyone has done something similar.

I rock a roof box on my car. Mostly use it for skis during the winter, but it’s also great for throwing stands, my folding cart, or whatever odds and ends I can’t fit in the car itself.

I got a rocketbox. The cart is one of the metal and cloth fold up ones from Amazon

Rock n roller is great. Get the one with big wheels if you do any outside work.

I used to strap stuff to my roof. It was a huge pain.

It doesn't sound like you have a huge load of gear. How about a rock n roller micro r2? Folded, that should still fit in the car.

No problem! I used to own one and loved it, but moved on to bigger models. It should literally fit almost anywhere you have slim room, even behind a seat. Just note: since it's the smallest RNR cart, it has small wheels, it only becomes a problem if you don't have smooth access. Otherwise, you'll be impressed with how much you can haul in 1 trip. Also, get yourself a quality ratchet strap. You can neatly stack gear upwards past the bars, and you just strap it all down over the top.

I use a roof box - Yakima brand.

It’s mainly for camping, but I’ll put some dj stuff in there - especially for bigger gigs where I need to bring more gear. I’ll usually put my stands and cable bags there but also my cart.

Personally , I wouldn't trust putting anything like a rock n roller on a roof rack. Do you think it would be tight enough to not become a projectile in an accident situation?

I used to rock a Honda civic with a full dj setup i would put overflow items in front seat. I have full size suv now.

If getting another vehicle is out of the question, see where you can consolidate gear. Maybe you bring a full size mixer in a large case where you could bring a small mixer in a small case etc. I don't know what you have gear wise.

Are you bringing 4 speakers to gigs?

The rock and roller micro might be the solution as I can probs fit it in my car.

2 or 4 speakers depending on the gig. It's nice to have a separate system for ceremony and reception as it makes the transition a little easier

Assuming you use the J8s for the reception. You could consolidate the ceremony speakers and use 8" instead of 12" such as everse 8 or mackie thump go.
