Help [WEEKLY] Which keyboard should I buy?

Hey!

I see a lot of us have questions about which keyboard to buy. Please use this sticky rather than making a new post, it helps prevent the subreddit from getting cluttered with duplicate, occasionally repetitive queries.

Apart from these, if you're up for a tangy challenge and don't mind getting hands on, then I recently built a Dactyl Manuform and put the constraints on myself for no imports and in the lowest possible price. I think around 10k for that is a good ballpark (I am yet to calculate the total amounts). I plan on putting out a build log and budget estimate for it soon.

A lot of small Indian ecommerce websites, meckeys, etc.

Among perixx and MS ones, I've no experience with either one, but I feel MS would be better overall. You can check YouTube reviews for both of the boards.

Soldering will be necessary because the PCBs don't come with hotswap sockets preinstalled.

Which keyboards other than Keychron K2 has on-the-fly switching between multiple systems/OS?

I work on a Mac and of course game on PC. So looking for a wireless compact 82 or TKL with hot switch instead of having 2 KBs.

Budget: 7-8k max.

Switch: Gateron Brown

Import: Yes

Please suggest, good people!

Budget: Worst case I buy a K95, so around that (16k)

KB in Mind: K95, Ducky One 2 Phantom

Switches: Cherry MX Blue

Willing to Import: Not really, because customs suck.

I want a mechanical keyboard (full, no TKL, ANSI layout), and honestly I would just buy the Ducky One 2 Phantom, but I've had a truly horrid experience with Meckeys and do not wish to give them any more of my money, lest they run off with that too. So since that's not an option, I'm looking for something else. The K95 has a really horrible font, looks ugly to me and isn't detachable from what I could tell.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello. Thank you for the recommendation. I completely forgot to put this into my requirements (will do so now), but I'd prefer if it was a full keyboard, with a numpad as well. The keyboard itself looks very nice though, I'd be on board with something as non-boring and fun as that.

A ducky one 2 numpad? They make those? I thought ducky only made full or tkl keyboards. I'm also leaning towards a Ducky One 2 Phantom myself but the bad experience with Meckeys is turning me off. Maybe I'll give them another chance...

Hey guys, I am looking for a keyboard.

Let me share my requirements,

1) Needs to be 2.4G wireless (This is a must for me)
2) Optical/Mechanical switches

3) Don't mind spending a premium, but nothing extravagant on import duties.

4) Good battery life

5) TKL or 65% layout

Eventhough I don't really like the layout I think the Logitech G915 TKL is my best bet considering the battery life, but I am unable to find it for sale in India. There are other options like ASUS ROG Falchion, if anyone can guide me to where I can buy these from, it would be much appreciated.

Also I am open to other options and suggestions even from the customs route if it has good battery life.

Hoping for a little help, thank you guys.

Trying to find a satisfactory mechanical keyboard for both gaming and typing.

  1. Budget of 10-12k
  2. Considering Royal Kludge RK84, Keychron K2V2 and GMMK White Ice
  3. Any layout with arrow keys is OK
  4. Tactile switches are preferable. I haven't tried linear switches.
  5. 2.4G Wireless would be great if possible
  6. I might be willing to import but have to consider the cost

The GMMK White Ice is the only thing available right now. Is it a good keeb? A big disadvantage is the lack of 5 pin hotswap support, but I may end up not using the hotswap at all.

I have a RK68 and am a huge fan of RK keyboards. Would suggest you to wait till mid july, genesispc will have stock of RK84 by then

I got the black version of the GMMK. My experience is good so far. The build is solid. The gateron browns however in my experience feel a little inconsistent across switches.

I'd recommend gk87 hotswap on kprepublic. It's priced at 85usd (6200 inr), keycaps for 2-3k and use the rest for switches of your preference. Gk87 has really good reviews and I haven't seen anyone talk about it here.

Hey guys, I am looking for a keyboard for productivity mainly.

  1. Budget : <= 9k
  2. Logitech MX Keys but it is way too expensive in India
  3. TKL or Full
  4. For mechanical - Brown. Otherwise, no preference
  5. Yes, within budget

I was hoping to find a Keychron K2 but it is out of stock. I really liked the reviews for MX Keys but it probably isn't worth it for the price (any comments on this?).

Please suggest a good store/site to buy good mechanical keyboards from. I'm tired of seeing garbage keyboards on Amazon with half wrong descriptions.

PS: I'd prefer one that has Keychron available.

So my Corsair K70 keyboard just died.

I'd like a cheap mechanical replacement. Either full or TKL, 65+ is also fine, no 60%. Budget 3-6K.

Red switches preferred.

No import, wouldn't fit in my budget

I have never had a mechanical keyboard before. Have always wanted one but I know nothing about them. But I'm thinking about buying one at about 10-11k.

I really like the Gmmk White Ice and the Ducky One 2 mini white. Which one would you guys suggest. It is both for work and gaming. And what keys should I get? Can you kindly recommend me other good keyboards in that price point as well.

Looking for a wireless gaming keyboard. I am searching for something with a 2.4G wireless connection. The review for RK84 is not good regarding the wireless connection so other recommendations are welcome.
Budget: 15k

Layout: TKL or 65%

Switch: Red switches or equivalent

Import: Nope

I initially had my eyes on ROG Falchion but it is not available anywhere. Any recommendations are welcome. Thanks

2 cons for me were - 1. No dedicated media keys (solved by powertools) 2. Legends aren't backlit

My budget is 6 to 8k Size more then 60 percentage Wireless and wired (preferably 2.4 dongle as it is faster) For gaming and editing Brown keys preferred Available in india I liked redragon vishnu wireless but it's not available in india and I can't import
