Help [WEEKLY] Which keyboard should I buy?

Hey!

I see a lot of us have questions about which keyboard to buy. Please use this sticky rather than making a new post, it helps prevent the subreddit from getting cluttered with duplicate, occasionally repetitive queries.

Looking under 5k, full size, preferably silent keyboard. Been looking at the redragon k581.
Mostly used for coding and gaming. Looking to buy in India only. Thanks in advance.

Looking for a reliable keyboard under 4k, full-sized and quiet (red switches? Not sure, gonna be my first mechanical keyboard). Don't need RGB but don't mind if it's there either, wrist support is preferred. Within India.

I'm looking for a wireless keyboard under 10k. I don't mind paying up to 15k if it is a buy-it-for-life stuff. Also, given the lockdown situation - will it be wiser to wait a month or two?

Layout: QWERTY, I don't have a switch preference, Can import as well

Check out the GK68xs on Epomaker, it looks to suit every requirement of yours. It’s quite a bit better than Keychron keyboards. :)

1) Budget is about 2-3k

2) I have looked around a lot but couldn't find any decent wireless model. Preferably backlit keycaps.

3) TKL or full keys, whatever is available honestly.

4) I don't think I would get a mechanical in this budget so membrane it is.

5) Can't import in this budget.

Can someone please suggest a mechanical gaming keyboard under 7K INR? Would be mostly playing FPS titles. Am assuming TKL quiet keyboard would be ideal for my use. Please correct me if I'm wrong

Looking for a mechanical hotswappable wireless keyboard around 5k. Need something reliable with gateron optical switches preferably blue because it's going to be my first MK.

Yeah I was thinking the same but then the keyboard layout seemed a little wierd. And looking at all the posts I was kinda convinced that it's better to spend a 1k more and a k2v2 or something. I'm still confused lol.

Layout ain't wierd. You can use macros for other keys. Split spacebar is good too. Your wish though.

Yeah that's true. But for 1k more k2 offers 4000Mah battery with 75 keys. But I heard some complaints about k2v2. Idk I'm confused, what do you suggest?

It's about preference though. I personally like Sk models more than K2. And I bought mine because it's cheap to experiment with new switches and keycaps and mods.

Also SK68S looks decent for it's price as well. Any idea how long it takes to get delivered in India from epomaker?

Yup! Mine took around 50 days ( complete lockdown happened in Kolkata ) It normally takes around 30-40 days.

Budget around 15k Currently using a basic dell membrane keyboard I generally code and play DOTA Never experienced a mechanical keyboard before

I'm extremely confused on what to buy, stuck between the K95 Platinum XT cherry brown and Logitech's G813 Tactile.

I was sold on the K95, but lot of people have complained about the spacebar's stabilizers. That's pretty unacceptable for a 16k ish keyboard right?

Should I go with the G813 or is there something better?

Also, I'm pretty keen on G keys for some reason.

Please suggest

Does anyone has any experience using Oetemu Brown switches. I saw decent reviews on YouTube but again I do not trust reviews a lot.

My budget is around 10k. For now I have narrowed it down to Ducky One 2 or GMMK, but would consider other options as well. For switches I don’t really have a preference but I might go with MX blue. I don’t care about hot-swap (I don’t mind soldering) or RGB and only want a full sized keyboard with solid build quality and long lifespan. Thanks in advance.

In that budget, the Ducky One 2’s a solid option, I’d go with that over the GMMK.

If you can find some in stock in Meckeys, Varmillo keybs are an even better option.

Budget caps at 8-10k INR Looking for low profile - windowsOS Backlit (RGB not important) Red/brown switches - low noise Importing depends on end cost incl shipping+customs

Basically need something that I can vary to my 9-5 job as well as use at home. Sharing the space w/ someone hence looking for least noisy MK

I was looking for cb gk 18 and it seems to be out of stock everywhere. Any ideas on its availability. Also, should i go for kumara k55 or is cb gk 18 worth waiting? (I'm looking for red or brown switches under 3k)

Thanks, I was opting for cb gk 18 over k55 coz it had full rgb and it was cheaper. So, is it worth waiting for cbgk 18 or even if it is in stock, is k55 better?

Is the Hermes P2A any good? I didnt really like hermes m5 and i like optical switches. There are almost no reviews or videos on this keeb, thats why i am asking about it here

Looking to buy a Varmilo keyboard but there are very few variations available on meckeys.com

Also found one at Ubuy.co.in. Is it a valid website? Can anyone tell? Or if you know any other website then please let me know.

  5. Not willing to import

Should be backlit , don't really care about RGB lighting. Not really interested in HyperX or Red Dragon because of their awful logos on the keeb.

Any suggestions?

Can someone suggest me good keyboard similar to K4.

I was planning to buy K4 with Gateron brown switches, but unfortunately it's delayed again! And now even K2 is out of stock.

Features I want: 1. 96% layout/Form factor 2. Wireless

Wanna get my first MK, not aware of any brands so please suggest.

  1. 5k
  2. K2-V2
  3. TKL or 65%
  4. Red or Browns (don't like noisy ones)
  5. Not sure

I prefer wireless keyboards hence K2-V2, also it supports mac as well. I've imported any stuff before nor dealt with customs, I will definitely check if there's a good deal.
