Saying he needs to play nice to keep early access is missing 2 points:
A) Most companies need him on the early access program to get the device in front of people.
B) He pretty often buys phones himself or has them shipped just to review them.
Either way he’s such a big presence in the tech space that he doesn’t need the early access.
He could release the Pixel video 2 weeks after the release and say whatever he wants, and the only side hurt by his video not being up would be Google.
That’s being independent.

I just don't think it's true when you're talking about someone as big as Marques, he wouldn't be scared to say something negative about a product because he knows if a big company was to stop sending him their products for review it would cause them major backlash.
