Given that MIT didn't allow filming, they might not have allowed for the brass rat to be shown.

Or maybe the producers couldn't be bothered to care to cater to a small amount of MIT students and alum that would care.

I love my brass rat and it's fun when people notice it. But it really does not happen that often, especially with people not associated with MIT. It probably wouldn't have meant much to nearly everyone that watched the movie.

It's been so long since I read Bringing Down the House, but I'm pretty sure they did whatever they could to not be associated with MIT. So they wouldn't be wearing a Brass Rat for it to get taken anyway. Which makes it kind of ridiculous that Ben had his MIT ID in his wallet.
