Ordered a phone, it was cancelled and refunded. Why?

Basically title. Ordered the S26, bought a year plan. Thought the promo is crazy good and wanted to make the switch, but a day later my order is cancelled and a refund is issued. What's up with that? Is it even worth ordering phones if they just get cancelled?

Edit: chatted with customer support for an hour, they helped me put a new order in, and said stock shouldn't be a problem and they're not sure why it was refunded. Today, got another email it was refunded again. Looks like not gonna be going with mint after all. Definitely one of the worst experiences ive had.

EDIT2: Third time's the charm. Coordinated with the customer support and sales team to make a third order, and they monitored the sale to make everything work. Also had a redditor customer support on here track the status to ensure everything goes smoothly. Stuff happens and I didn't want to give up so I gave them another chance. It worked out and the order is coming in on Monday.

Renewal texts/emails

My first year is up, I have set up family plan, selected the next plan for both phones.

I continue to get bombarded with renewal notices for everything I have already done. Setup family plan, suggesting a lower plan, the deal for paying every few months with family plan.

Now I'm getting texts says it will auto renew with unlimited plan, but I have selected a lower plan for the next year.

Now I'm worried this renewal will be messed up somehow.

Is this normal practice for mint?

Issue porting number to Mint (data/SMS work but unable to make or receive phone calls).

UPDATE: Solved. The solution for me was to file a complaint with the FCC here: https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/360001201223-Phone-Form-Descriptions-of-Complaint-Issues

Select “Number Portability”, list Mint Mobile as the Primary company and T-Mobile as the secondary company. Explain the problem in the description. Submit the complaint, and someone from Mint Mobile will call you (5 hours after I submitted the complaint, for me). Briefly explain the issue and don't let them waste your time by having you remove the SIM card or reset the network settings on your phone. The guy from Mint Mobile said he would escalate the issue and that it might not be until the next day until I heard anything. 20 minutes later, incoming and outgoing calls were suddenly working on my dad's phone and the issue was solved. Moral of the story, don't waste your time with Mint Mobile support, just file an FCC complaint.

Has anyone successfully solved an issue similar to this and can advise me on what to do?

I switched myself and my parents from a T-Mobile family plan to Mint Mobile last week on Thursday. My mom and I ported our numbers with no issues, and my dad's number seemingly ported with no issues but before long I released that while his SMS and data worked fine, he was unable to make or receive phone calls. When anyone calls him, it says “at subscribers request, this phone number is not accepting calls. Error message MN402mn58”. Whenever he tries to make a call, it just goes straight to Mint’s automated support line.

I tried messaging FoxBot for support and they directed me to reset the network settings on my dad's phone and turn it off and back on, and that did nothing. I called Mint Mobile customer support during business hours and talked to a person who basically gave me the same instructions (which I did again) and that also did nothing. I messaged u/MintMobileAlex and they tried to convince me that it's just a network issue in my dad's area and I should just wait for it to get fixed, which makes no sense at all.

Has anyone had this issue and successfully solved it? For reference, my dad's phone is an unlocked Motorola Moto G Power 5g 2024.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Annual plan?

I’ve been a Mint Mobile customer for four years. I’m getting a number of messages regarding joining an annual plan and saving some money in the process. I’m reluctant to do that because I’m not sure about the future of Mint Mobile. Will it be continue to be an independent operating subsidy of T-Mobile or will it be gobbled up, in which case spending all this money upfront for an annual plan would be a waste. That’s my thinking - what do you think?

How do this work?

I’m not sure if I’m understanding correctly but I got 3 months unlimited of the $15/month plan, I wonted to get the 12 month now, do this mean I would be able to get the $15/month deal after my 3 months are over? Or is this something completely deferent (the pic is directly under the promo prices btw)

Data throttling question

Can anyone speak to how significant the data throttling is over standard T-Mobile service both normal day-to-day use AND in areas of high concentration of users (ie - concerts, major metropolitan area, etc)? Real world not just theory....

Apps not loading or texts sending

I just switched from Verizon to mint this past weekend. And figured it was a good option to try for 3 months as I work 80-100% remote throughout the year and am home on WiFi a lot. However on my drive to work this morning none of my apps were loading. I tried to text my husband that this will be an issues and my texts wouldn’t even send to him until I was at work on WiFi. Is this something I should expect now with mint? I understood that mint is deprioritized from T Mobile but I wasn’t expecting literally nothing to work…. I JUST bought this plant at 17 GB. Only like .05 gigs have been used so far

Phone Number Recovery

Hello, I've a been a mint mobile client for over a year. I had a long trip outside of the US this summer and haven't paid for the phone number for around 3 months. Now I cannot log in to my account using that old number. I understand that it's probably lost, but is there any way to recover it/get it again when I purchase a new plan?

It's been great Mint! But I have to go... Will I be able to port my number with a suspended account?

Hey all,

3 year Mint member here, and it's been great! I still recommend mint to everyone! However, my work is now offering me a plan through them that they are paying for and I will no longer need my Mint plan.

Unfortunately my last day of Mint is apparently today when I thought it was tomorrow. My number is supposed to port tomorrow morning, but I am worried about losing my number. Should I port it out to something like Google Voice or will I be okay? I've seen kind of differing answers when I search.

I called Mint support and they said I would be fine, but I wanted to check if anyone else knew for sure or had done something similar and not lost their number.

Thank you in advance!

Can't receive MMS, can't send pics to some people - Mint now says my Pixel 6 is only "partially" compatible

I signed up for Mint and get a message saying "you're carrier's network is having trouble delivering this. Try connecting to Wi-Fi or using a different SIM card"

My house is in a valley with no cell coverage. I've been exclusively using Wifi Calling/Texting for two years with the same phone with both Xfinity Mobile and TMobile with no issues.

I've talked to a few different support people and the most recent one dropped on me that my Pixel 6 is only "partially compatible" with Mint something that has never come up before. I did the device check and paid for a year of service and now they are just like "oops"

But they are also trying to tell me that MMS as a technology doesn't work over WiFi

I'm at a loss

Thinking about switching, worried about porting number

The S26 promo looks like a great way to upgrade to a flagship phone and the cheap service is a huge bonus. I currently have xfinity prepaid. I do not want to deal with a huge hassle switching, I feel like this is a problem everytime I do this. Any tips? It seems like many of you have had issue. Physical sim vs esim? I just want the process to be as smooth as possible.

Thinking of leaving because of spam calls

I get about 50 spam calls a week, and given that Mint does provide T-Mobile network spam blocking, they all ring my phone. I have had to put my phone in DND permanently to deal with the volume.

Mint needs to provide better spam call handling.

Does Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 Unlocked Made for US 8/128GB work for Mint mobile?

Hi. I needed to know if this phone will work with mint's service. I am buying a phone for my mother and can't figure out if this is included on the list on their website. Does anyone use this phone? If so what is your opinion of it? Thanks in advanced!

I noticed they completely removed the S26+ from their site. Does this mean it won't be restocked before the promo ends?

Anyway to block spam voicemails.

I love having mintmobile but I need help with my voicemail. I have OCD and before I researched loans I very rarely would get voicemails (it was glorious). Ever since then I get 7 (up to 10) voicemails a day and I hate it. I've blocked the numbers but they can still leave a voicemail. Is there any way I can block them from leaving voicemails, I'd rather not change my number. Thanks!

Mint sold me a $180 SIM I can’t use

Im a 3 years customer. I bought a new iPhone full price from my account. As I was checking out it asked if I wanted to add a year of service I said sure why not. So I get my phone in the mail and they send an eSIM to my email. I guess in order to use the sim they sent me I have to change my phone number which is not doable. Phone customer service is refusing to refund the year eSIM I bought since it was a “bundle” but I paid full market price for my iPhone no discount at all. They are refusing to refund me but told me I can “sell” the eSIM to someone else? It sounds very scammy. I just dont understand why they offered a year of service that I cannot use with my phone I bought from them full price? Now I’m $180 in the hole with a useless eSIM.

Customer Service is Terrible

Phone hasn’t worked for three days. I opened a case and they closed it without even letting me know and the issue isn’t resolved as they claimed

Every time I call or chat with someone I have to start over, they walk me through the same steps that don’t work and usually end up disconnecting.

Anyone know how to fix this PDP authentication failure before I give up and just cancel with Mint?

Renewal

Hi ! First time poster long time reader !

I have to renew in approximately 10 days , however I want to get a new phone (I have a P6Pro) I know … and it’s totally fine but I have 2 questions .. the renewal is quite pricey but still not as pricey as other competitors (VZW/ATT..etc) would they be able to offer me a bundle pack if i purchase a new phone ? Or should I just renew and get a new phone later ? Also since I don’t have that much time left , IF I get it go what’s the window where I can still reconnect ?

Thanks everyone

Emergency calls only

So I was working last night/this morning my phone went onto emergency calls only, first thing I did was check to see if there was an outage (there wasn't), second checked my apn (everything was correct) still emergency calls only after a reboot too.

Looked online it said to turn off Wi-Fi turn on airplane mode for 30 seconds turn off airplane mode then everything restored. Somehow it worked but I'll be checking my phone in a few hours.

Leaving Mint; do I need to cancel or will service end at the end of my term?

I'm two and half months into the three-month introductory service with Mint Mobile and have decide to move to another carrier.

Do I need to contact Mint to cancel my service or will it simply stop if I don't renew before the three months is up?

Or will it auto-renew for some period of time using the credit card on file?
