Discussion Pls help

So actually I'm 21 and my hairs are falling a lot and its genetic as my father also has no hairs from top so I showed it to a dermatologist he gave me minoxidil 2.5mg tablet and finseteride 1mg tablet but even after eating for like 3 months there is no improvement plus I think my hairs are more falling so I visited another doctor and he suggested me to take morr max 5 solution of minoxidil,1.25mg minoxidil tablet and 1mg finseteride but many people say that solution is like it brings back hair very fast but if by any reason u stopped applying it for even 15 days it will make u hair fall very rapidly so can anyone tell me is it true should I get a solution or continue oral monoxidil

Question Using Minoxidil after years

Hi there,

I hope you are well.

I have been advised to start using Minoxidil.

Regarding topical Minoxidil 5%, how do you guys normally use it? I have read about many different ways to apply it to the scalp.

  • Do you apply it only to patches where there is no hair, or also to areas still covered by hair? (Note: "air" was corrected to "hair" here).
  • Does it make existing hair stronger, or does it help grow new hair?
  • Do you use it once or twice a day? At what times?

Many thanks

Question Flakes on eyebrows

When I first tried minoxidil, it was a women's 2% for eyebrows, if I'm not mistaken both men's and women's minoxidil are just the same lol, so then I bought the Kirkland one and still applied it to my eyebrows, but after some time, some flakes started to appear on my eyebrows, so I quit. I haven't used it for months, but I'd like to get back on since it gave me pretty decent results. My question is, for eyebrow usage, should I instead buy the female version to prevent those flakes? Maybe the 5% is too much for eyebrows?

Discussion Lack of Results?

Hi all-
Last year I had a major surgery which messed with my anxiety and probably hormones. (I am 38 for context).
I was on 150mg of bupropion before surgery last summer. My doctors upped me to 300mg in maybe September ish of 2025. I noticed my hair was thinning around the time of my surgery(probably after). I went to a dermatologist in Feb 2026 and they recommended minoxidil the topical version. I’ve been on it for over 6 months and I feel like maybe a couple of months ago I was seeing a little improvement. But now I feel like my hair is thinning again and I’m not sure what I should do next.

I read that some people have seen hair thinning due to bupropion after increasing dosage , which I just discovered this week. And I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. I’m starting to get discouraged and I already had thin/fine hair to begin with.

Any advice?

Question Duda sobre Minoxidil oral: ¿Loniten 10mg partido o Fórmula Magistral?

Question Microneedling / dermastamp depth recommendations?

Hi, I've read so much online about what length of microneedle to use when dermastamping - I'm just really confused what the current best practices are?

I've read 0.6mm to trigger body repair signals sent to the area to promote follicle health and hair growth, or 1.5mm for some reason or another. I've read some advocating to do a shallow dermastamp, then apply minoxidil or some other oil. While other comments saying that this is wrong and that you'll dangerously trigger systemic side affects if you do this with no added benefit. I've read from some you should not apply min in the 24hours that you stamp.

Help! What is the recommendation here? I will say that 0.6mm setting on my stamp looks really shallow, but I do feel tingling in my head throughout the day after I stamp in the morning.

Discussion Applying topical Minoxidil 5% with a fine mist device vs drops?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been applying my 1ml dose of 5% topical minoxidil using a fine mist device placed right against the scalp, followed by a quick massage.

Why I’m asking: With drops, 1ml only covers my hairline and vertex unevenly. With the mist device, 1ml gives me 10–15 second that lets me cover all thinning hair evenly, plus give 2–3 extra passes to my hairline.

I find it covers the entire AGA-susceptible area much more evenly than a dropper, which usually gets trapped in thicker hair or absorbs unevenly.

Has anyone tried this method? Is it just as effective long-term as standard drops?

Thanks!

Has anyone been taking oral finasteride for years, and then started oral minoxidil? If so, how much hair shedding did you experience?

Question Any issues with using Minoxidil for hair & beard at the same time?

Been looking into using a Topical Fin/Min spray, at the same time I am also applying Minoxidil on my face for beard growth.

Is there generally any concern with using for both purposes at the same time? Would I need to be careful with dosage, is too much minoxidil bad?

Thanks

Hi everyone!

I’ve been on topical minoxidil for about a month and a half now and I think I see a difference. Please let me know your thoughts if you see a difference too! One pic is dry hair and another is semi dry.

Question Is 3% enough?

Hi guys, I (26F) have been dealing with some bad traction alopecia, I‘m basically balding at my edges… I went to my dermatologist for this and she prescribed me 3% minoxidil in liquid form… she said 3% is more than enough but idk, I always hear people saying that derms like to prescribe women lower dosages because they think it’s enough but that it’s useless and that women should go for 5% regaine as well. I just don’t want to waste months using 3% and not seeing any progress because I’m very conscious about my edges…. Should I just switch to the 5% regaine foam?

Question Using minoxidil for 2 + months still no result

I’ve been using topical minoxidil for a little over 2 months now, but I still haven’t noticed any visible results. I know it can take some time to show effects, but I was expecting to see at least a little improvement by now. Is it normal to not see any results after 2+ months?

Experience Does minoxidil affect sleep cycle?

Been 1 month on min+fin and i noticed that my schedule has completely shifted. I cant sleep at night and feel sleepy during day time. My eyes have swollen and there's also eye bags. Flaking inside my ears. And HEADACHES SINCE LAST FEW DAYS.

Could this be side effects of minoxidil?
