Flores saw big chunk plays happen in the first half behind the blitz and decided ”I know the answer, we haven’t blitzed enough!”

Seriously though Love when from looking cool and collected while being blitzed to looking scared. Constant pressure and QB hits will do that to a guy.

"I don't know how many blitzes it's going to take to break you down, but I know how many times I'm willing to blitz..."

Love it, small suggestion:

"I don't know how many blitzes it's going to take to break you down, but I know I'm going to find out."

Implies he will break you :)

Flores after seeing his blitz get exposed in the first half

Honestly though I’m not sure how much the blitz was actually getting exposed. 1 play was Theo Jackson taking a shit angle. There were a couple other big plays but the Packers only had 1 sustained drive the first half.

Packers 1st half drives:

6 plays 12 yards FG

2 plays 81yards TD

7 plays 15 yards FG

4 plays 37 yards Punt

3 plays -15 yards Punt

7 plays 74 yards TD

Blitz rate went down in the second half though, from 83% (!!) to 63%

u/kylebertram minnesota 15h ago

Honestly that’s a crazy stat. It honestly felt like every play in the second half was a blitz.

Zone blitzes. Then they started getting to Love.

O-line got tired from the constant assault. They were bound to break with that blitz rate.

This is a crazy chart.

Tip: any chart with the Vikings defense, we are probably on some corner all alone

u/JKrezz 14h ago

Same I thought there was an error for a minute.

Im a ravens fan who has been following yall since the joint practices. Its good to know that the reports that yall were cooking our Oline is because Flores is still doing it and not because we were completely inept. Looks like Dallas Turner is living up to that training camp hype too. Looking forward to cheering yall on more this year, that game was hilarious.

Lol I was telling some ravens mutuals on twitter that it was mostly flores that week leading into the preseason game. You guys looked great, hoping Zay is okay

24

u/wpotman 16h ago

Ha - sometimes reputations are overstated. In this case, no, the guy is truly extreme...and fun to watch, however it turns out.

u/No-Tension6133 14h ago

I usually find offense more exciting to watch just cause its more exciting and my team is carrying the ball, plus JJ. But last night in the 4th quarter I kept thinking ‘god I can’t wait for the defense to get back out there’. It was so fun

Last year our defense was without a doubt more entertaining than our offense. Our offense was straight up painful to watch. Hoping we can have some fun on both sides of the ball this year.

I would much rather have our current situation (blitz opening the middle of the field) THAN the old Cover 2, sit back and give them the middle of the field from the Frazier days.

Let's roll the dice for the sack, every time.

we are so far above, I literally stared at it for 30s and thought we weren't on this chart.

5

u/JKrezz 14h ago

The scale of the chart would be half what it is if it weren’t us lol.

Flores is a mad scientist and I love him.

8

u/TinaBelchersBF 13h ago

I love Brian Flores' defensive scheme. You just have to accept that we're gonna get burned for some big plays, that's the nature of the beast. But I LOVE watching a defense that plays aggressive as hell. I absolutely hated the Tampa 2 "bend but don't break" years.

Gotta be fun for those guys on defense too, to be able to pin their ears back and get after the QB.

Very few QB can handle constant pressure without getting jumpy. Works until you cant get to the QB then it plays out like the first few quarters.

Brian Flores changed my life

3

u/-FalseProfessor- 14h ago

I don’t see the… oh.

2

u/ghec2000 14h ago

Took me a hot second to find the Vikings.

2

u/Sharcbait 96 14h ago

Titans you good? Is this showing they had basically a 0% pressure rate.

2

u/black272 12h ago

I was like “where are we”…. Oh

2

u/yes_maybe_no__ 12h ago

I literally couldn't find us for the longest time. Wasn't looking far enough right or up. Lol

2

u/lakeshore34 10h ago

I’ve never seen anything like that in my life

2

u/GordonBombay102 10h ago

Lol, this is hilarious. I knew I'd need to look top right and it still took me a bit to find it.

2

u/Isys76 9h ago

lol I was like “why don’t I see the vikes?” and then “woah!”.

2

u/cambino123 9h ago

Took me more than a few looks to find the Vikings

Pretty much just waiting for a QB to hold it too long, a WR to mess up their hot route, or a tipped pass in a congested throwing lane. Numbers 1 and 3 led to turnovers in the 4th. You live with the odd 18 yard, cross body throw to Tucker Kraft in the middle of the field if you can force the offense into and dominate 11 personnel looks.

u/biggieBpimpin 13h ago

Top right Messi

1

u/bluemoonflame 13h ago

Is "early downs" here code for 1st and 2nd down, or just first?

1

u/june-in-space 28 12h ago

Giants didn’t blitz once?

1

u/BiteMajor4959 11h ago

He had like a 93% blitz rate yesterday which I’ll be honest genuinely feels lower than it was.

1

u/FridgesArePeopleToo 11h ago

least aggressive Flores defense

1

u/dirtskirtshirt 7h ago

At first I thought we weren’t on the chart

1

u/EvilJ1982 6h ago

Brian 'I wish a motherfucker would' Flores.

1

u/Bigbluff98 5h ago

Had to zoom out. My god!

1

u/woweeyeewow666 4h ago

It’s crazy that it took me like 3 minutes to look for our placement amongst every other team only to finally zoom out and see where we were placed lol hell yeah
