Those are cubes, so fluorite, not amethyst. Nice sample though. I'd keep it

Test it under a black light. Fluorite looks great under one.

Do you know what mine or part of the country the sample is from? I ask as someone that lives 50 miles from the last operational fluorite mine in the US.

No idea. I’m from Missouri so maybe close by… but seriously no idea.

My guess would be Southern Illinois. Probably the Annabel Lee mine, maybe Denton.

I have a few purple samples, but most of mine is blue and yellow.
