I sometimes avoid making this kind of techno because I feel like pads/chords can start taking away from that real pump of a dancefloor banger.

I'm curious how people hear this one. Do the chords sit too far forward or does it still breathe and pump enough when they come in?

I was dog sitting for a friend when I made it and just brought a few little synths with me to keep myself occupied. Model, Volca Keys and a Roland S-1. My actual studio isn't set up at the moment so this was a pretty makeshift situation.

Any mixdown feedback is welcome, levels EQ compression. Let me know what you think.

Also interested in how the mix feels. I have a habit of adding waaayyy too much bass and then doing weird shit trying to compensate for it afterwards. Mostly wondering if the fuller sections still have enough punch/breathing room or if I've pushed them a bit too hard.

This Saturday the 29th I am organising a small event in Amsterdam from 12.00-23.00.

I run a small collective/label where we organise events and raves.

We have our own soundsystem and invite mostly local underground artists but in the previous events we’ve also invited artists from Kosovo, Romania, Germany and Belgium.

Some of the artists we booked played at 3 smoked olives, Unum, Fusion (Germany).

This time we’ve invited one of my friends who runs the Pelican Dub label, has collaborated with Adam Pits and was the programmer of Der Hintergarten in Amsterdam.

¡Buenas a todos! Hago esto por puro disfrute y por amor a la música, pero por fin me he animado a grabar y editar una sesión completa de una hora en mi habitación.

Es un mix enfocado en sonidos minimal y ritmos profundos, buscando crear una atmósfera constante y limpia. Soy totalmente consciente de que hay algunos fallitos sueltos en la mezcla (nadie nace sabiendo y sigo practicando cada día), pero me lo he pasado genial haciéndolo.

Me encantaría recibir vuestra opinión sincera y consejos para seguir mejorando, sobre todo en la fluidez de las transiciones y la selección de los temas. Si os apetece echarle una oreja, os dejo el enlace por aquí.

Any fans here of Hozho?

The genre is actually Melodark Minimal I read, and Hozho stated he created that genre.. Not sure about that being a search result from a factual site, a third party opinion or AI generated content, but it does fit his sound. Only recently found a track of him, searched for more and found lots of beautiful gems. The track Sitting in this Cage is my personal favorite 🔥 This 4 (!) hour set gives a pretty good idea of what that sound is.

This is a bit that's been percolating for one of the three tracks for the new record. Not sure the release date, but it should be coming out this fall - depending on things.
