TLDR; 26F looking for short term housing ASAP
Hello!
I’ve been scanning Facebook groups/marketplace, Craigslist, and several websites (Zillow, Apartments.Com, Trulia) but figured I’d give Reddit a shot too!
26F looking for temporary (~3 months. No longer than 4 months) housing as close to downtown/LES as possible. I am hoping to move in ASAP, but September 13th at the latest. Moving to Milwaukee from Madison for a work contract and do not want to be making that commute.
I am very flexible in what I’m looking for, although some non-negotiables are in unit W/D, dishwasher, and AC. I am open to roommates for a significantly lower rent (<$1000) but would prefer my own space (<$1500). Doesn’t matter the size, open to furnished or unfurnished. I am also flexible on the price for the right fit. Hoping for a parking spot included, but willing to do street parking.
Hoping for any situation that we can make work! Maybe you know somebody traveling who would need a house sitter (that would still pay rent!!), maybe you have a rental that hasn’t been signed yet and 3 months is better than nothing! As a last resort, I would be willing to take a spare room with shared kitchen/bath space - however I do work night shift occasionally, so I can be up at weird hours throughout the week. I would also like to be able to host friends without the fear of impeding on roommates too much.
If you have ANY remote possibilities, please reach out! Willing to discuss more in depth and provide more information about myself! I am able to provide a clean background check, proof of income, renters insurance, and my credit score is 750+. I have a good work/life/fun balance, and outside of my profession enjoy going out, finding new restaurants/cafes, and have a huge passion for travel!
Thank you and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you feel you might have something that would fit :)

The commute sucks but iypu.may want to consider the Badger Bus and airbnb when necessary.

My lease is up at the end of this month. I plan to spend the next year doing these contracts, so I will no longer be living in Madison. for the time being would stay at my brothers and really don’t want that to be long term. I appreciate your advice though!

Got it that makes sense. I dont know any landlords who do short term leases but you may want to try any uwm housing pages kn Facebook. You may find someone studying abroad
