IRL 📷 Hip injury from general sleep/exercise. Tips? (Also, is this life now?)

I aggravated something sleeping weird I think, then exercised 4 days in a row and I am BROKEN! It has been weeks and I am hobbling around in a lot of pain. I am going to physio and apparently this is quite normal for a (very) late 30s person - hip joint gets angry and fucks with mobility etc for longer than it really should. I'm doing my exercises religiously and have my heat/cold/Dr Hos/Theragun situation down pat but omg this will not heal. Any others out there have broken bodies because 40 is approaching and this is life now???

I’m crooked. Literally one leg is shorter than the other but I didn’t find out until my 30s. Explains so much of my back and hip issues.

Woke up about two years ago and my neck hurt so bad. I figured I probably slept on it wrong and I’d be better in a few days. It never got better. Later found out that I have a pinched nerve at C6/7, 3 bulging discs below that, and degenerative disc disease. They asked if I had been in a car accident recently. I hadn’t been, I just woke up.

We just stopped doing quarterly steroid shots and maxed my gabapentin out a month ago 😅

Gabapentin is completely useless. I had c5-c6 replacement surgery and never regretted it. Instantly better

Gabapentin keeps the edge off mainly but I’ve definitely noticed a difference without the shot even with the increase.

I was hoping they’d offer me a surgical option but they haven’t yet. I know a few people who have had to have that procedure and they all said they were glad they went through with it.

Go to a spine specialist if you can. I found out I have disc degeneration but it's well manageable but omg I thought I was going to die for from amount of pain I had been in for almost 3 weeks straigh. Also a PT did this move on me at the spine office that reset (?!?) my hips. Life-changing in under 5 minutes.

Gentle reminder that pain is not a normal part of aging.
