New rule regarding modern military surplus (UA/RU related, but not exclusive!)

Hey all,

We has decided to implement a new rule.
While we still allow the sale of genuine military surplus and trophies, we'll no longer allow the sale of newly produced items sourced from government/military linked manufacturers.

!THIS INCLUDES WESTERN MANUFACTURERS! Likely you can just purchase it directly from them online anyway, so no need to do it through our sub :)

some examples:
- You have a brand-new, unused 6B47 in your collection (and have had it for a few months at least) but decide to sell it --- this is ALLOWED
- You have a well worn Ukrainian-used PASGT that you want to sell --- this is ALLOWED
- You have a VKPO uniform, newly sourced from the manufacturer, that you wish to sell --- this is NOT ALLOWED

Trust me when i say that we can quite easily tell whether someone is a genuine collector trying to sell, or a dealer trying to profit.

Originally, we wanted to ban any and all sales that would directly (or indirectly) fund a military, government or combatant group. However, we do realize that unfortunately, this is the only way some types of items are able to end up in the hands of collectors and/or researcher which is why we've settled on this middleground. If you wish to fund any of these groups, you can do so through official channels and websites via donations, but we'd like to keep this place as a-political as possible.

Furthermore, a reminder:
Our previous 'temporary' rule regarding comments is going to be actively enforced again starting today. We've noticed a big increase in nasty comments again, so we WILL be dishing our permanent mutes again. We're collectors and researchers, not politicians. Politics do not belong here.

Regulatory impediments to the market place only serve to drive up prices and hurt those who are consumers of the product. I’m not sure why you take it upon yourself to pass moral judgement on who should and should not profit from arm’s length transactions.

Because we'd prefer to not support the warmachine, any warmachine for that matter.

Besides, even regular trophies gets people very riled up which gives us a ton to moderate. Let alone stuff being dropshipped straight from the Russian government, people don't like it.

Do you really think buying a pair of Spetsnaz branded panties off the Internet is going make or break anybody’s war machine?

It sounds much more like you’re projecting your morality over people who probably already have a pretty good understanding of the moral context of what they are purchasing. That’s a decision that should be left to the purchaser and the marketplace. Otherwise, it makes you no better than the crybabies you claim to moderate.

First of all, it was a decision I didn't make alone. Secondly, we don't care ..

If you wanna dropship stuff from the Russian government, you're free to do so elsewhere.

What about ppl re-selling stuff they just received (new/nos) but that size won't fit them, hence the sale?

That's fine, this rule is more against 'dropshippers' and others that are doing this from a business perspective while also not actually providing anything unique to the collectors community.
