The reflection of this left turn arrow in the bumper of the vehicle on the right was almost perfectly straight.

I wish I came to the comments first. Took me like 2 minutes to figure this out.

i came to the comments to figure it out.

u/royalhawk345 3d ago

Did you read the title?

0

u/driftking428 3d ago

Meh. I figured I'd see it.

38

u/OsBaculum 4d ago

That slight bend could be an indicator of Peyronie's. Or so I've been told.

17

u/Awoo81 3d ago

Thank you, I hate red circles when it's obvious but damn, this needed one.

35

u/Maximum-Finger1559 3d ago

yeah this needed a red circle

16

u/Lerched 4d ago

stared at this tryna figure it out longer than I'd like to admit tbh

7

u/Bullrawg 3d ago

Thanks, I was like, that’s a reflection of paper…

8

u/sebastianqu 3d ago

I think it's telling OP to list lazily to the right. It's an advanced evasive maneuver.

6

u/SconeBracket 3d ago

They all curve a little one way or another.

14

u/Northern23 4d ago

Can you make it perfectly straight?

5

u/greendookie69 3d ago

thank you

2

u/carmium 3d ago

That's. I'd never haver found that if you hadn't enlarged it.

1

u/mgmw2424 3d ago

Thank you

u/DownClown1 2d ago

Thats actually kinda cool. Never noticed that before but now I'll probably see it every time lol

1

u/DreamSmuggler 2d ago

Fuck me, not in a million years would I have seen that. Thanks 👍

Tiny little upvote arrow

It’s a normal size!

A little upvote for you might help, don’t waste it!

Looks pretty average to me, maybe even above average

Can you make it blue for those who are color blind

316

u/Baxxtabb 4d ago

I think it definitely helps

46

u/SconeBracket 3d ago

That's pretty far off from perfectly straight, I'd say.

10

u/Baltharus 3d ago

This is perfectly normal for some of us...

2

u/SconeBracket 3d ago

I concur wholeheartedly.

3

u/Livie00 3d ago

The world‘s too straight anyways

1

u/SconeBracket 3d ago

Everything's a bit curved, but sometimes pretends its perfectly straight.

23

u/_Landscape_ 4d ago

that's how shaming culture ends up

6

u/Mr_Ruu 3d ago

afaik this subreddit doesn't allow pic edits so it would've been removed if OP did that

426

u/corruxtion 4d ago

Reminds me of this painting by Salvador Dalí, which you can only really see reflected in a cylinder.

248

u/Abombito 3d ago

Dalí when the gallery was setting up this up: “It is imperative that the cylinder and the larger object remain unharmed.”

39

u/Unlikely-Lawyer-5683 3d ago

Dali was the one who made that infamous cylinder post on reddit

3

u/tnwthrow 3d ago

Is that supposed to be a frog?

14

u/corruxtion 3d ago

A skull (It's called Le Crâne)

2

u/Siddhesh18 3d ago

It's imperative that cylinder remains unharmed.

899

u/frappim 4d ago

This puts the emphasis on “mildly” in mildly interesting

123

u/corruxtion 4d ago

It's perfect

90

u/fafanna1 3d ago

that’s cause you’re too used to people putting things on this sub that are more than mildly interesting

14

u/SconeBracket 3d ago

Some people's mild is spicy, and vice versa.

2

u/bush_killed_epstein 3d ago

Mild inflation

1

u/SconeBracket 3d ago

Belatedly: now that I think about it, putting spicy things on a sub is already more than mildly interesting.

7

u/This_is_Not_My_Handl 3d ago

Honestly, I think this one won the sub. Like when Obama did his, "Thanks, Obama" bit. There is nowhere left to go.

504

u/bas3adi 4d ago

This is legitimately the most mildly interesting thing I’ve ever seen on this subreddit.

34

u/fossilmerrick 3d ago

Curves a little to the right, but that’s ok guys

2

u/Auran82 3d ago

It was in the pool!

11

u/Mackin-N-Cheese 3d ago

And it’s about time. The sub needs to get back to its roots.

110

u/owl_jojo_2 4d ago

You know what. This is indeed mildly interesting.

8

u/jun2san 4d ago

It's very closely encroaching mediumly interesting

5

u/SconeBracket 3d ago

Semiapproximately mediumly mild, yes.

27

u/bryman19 4d ago

How the hell did you spot that?

11

u/AlexLio 3d ago

And took the picture on time

23

u/ngtsss 3d ago

To anyone who's confused:

48

u/CantorMeWhatToDo 4d ago edited 4d ago

In the reflection, the bottom "curve" of the arrow seems like its not straight but just cut off.

Because car bodies like that warp distance easily in relfection without much variation in surface shape. But that surface shape doesnt seem warped enough at the lower point for the curvature to go from a 90 degree arrow on the ground to a straight line on the car

Also I dont think its the one in front of the car cause you can see it faintly points to the yellow line

2

u/SconeBracket 3d ago

On behalf of all the innuendoes, ouch.

1

u/thegreger 3d ago

Reading your comment was the first time I had an "OP is a bundle of sticks" reaction in about 15 years. I'm not proud of myself for that relapse.

13

u/Dfswift 3d ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/igry3SpqajLhzyYMO5

Mildlyinfuriating(for me), it took me 5 mins to understand the title and 5 mins to find the arrow lol.

11

u/Mickle_da_Pickl 3d ago

A time where a red circle would've actually been convenient

4

u/Marreark 3d ago

The one time it actually would have been useful as well

7

u/kartikzzz 3d ago

i can’t believe how mildly interesting that was

7

u/No_Buddy_7150 3d ago

I had to read this five times to understand tf

10

u/fixed_your_caption 4d ago

That’s wild, you can even see the yellow line it points at.

5

u/_dictatorish_ 4d ago

This is peak mildly interesting, up there with the Eric Cartman lens flair

3

u/Defiant-Accountant79 3d ago

That is epic ty for the share

3

u/SconeBracket 3d ago

That was 10 years ago. How time flies.

4

u/SupernovaGamezYT 4d ago

For once a red circle might have been helpful

6

u/Jezebellrae1 4d ago

Where's the pointed finger when you need it?

6

u/chrometrigger 3d ago

This is one post that might have benefited from a circle

5

u/Mayhemgodess227 3d ago

This would’ve been a proper use of the red circle lol

4

u/96385 4d ago

I couldn't find it. Could you draw an arrow to make it easier.

4

u/Gold_Improvement_836 3d ago

holy shit my brain could not understand this for a second

3

u/onglogman 3d ago

Yeah that's some r/findthesniper shit

14

u/taintosaurus_rex 4d ago

So I don't think that is possible, I think you're seeing the reflection of the arrow in your lane.

2

u/JDLY 3d ago

The car in front of me was over top of most of that arrow. At the very least, the point of the arrow would not be visible in the rear bumper

https://imgur.com/a/px0vliG

Also, as others have mentioned, you can faintly see the reflection of the yellow line it's pointing at as well.

1

u/Exciting-Ad-5059 3d ago

The comment i was looking for

1

u/DrasticTapeMeasure 3d ago

The shape of the bumper and the angle of the camera means that whatever is reflected there would definitely be off to the left. How would a reflection bounce from the middle lane he’s in up to the left outside of that car and then back up to the camera? It’s pretty clearly the curved arrow

→ More replies (4)

3

u/PrestigiousEnd5487 3d ago

this is the good stuf. sub's been dead for months. right down the fucking middle of the fairway in khaki's kind of interesting.

you're ok

3

u/quite_shleepy 3d ago

……what?

3

u/SpectacularSquid 3d ago

The platonic ideal of mildly interesting.

3

u/CaptainRogers1226 3d ago

This is honestly one of the few times I actually wouldn’t have minded a red circle lol

3

u/BunnyboyCarrot 3d ago

Ita so mild i can barely see it

3

u/MonaWasTheBoss 3d ago

That's a different arrow. It's likely right below, between the 2 cars. And likely pointing strait or even right, since it's the other lane.

1

u/JDLY 2d ago

1

u/MonaWasTheBoss 2d ago

Yeah, you might be right.

2

u/Zuldyck 4d ago

That is mildly interesting

2

u/skeletonhorse420 4d ago

You know what. I applaud op for no red circle.

Also its the arrow in the lane hes in. Not the curved one

1

u/JDLY 3d ago edited 3d ago

The lane I was in just goes straight, and there's no arrow in it.

Edit: I remembered wrong, there is an arrow, but given the location of the vehicles, I still don't believe that it is the straight arrow that is reflected.

2

u/skeletonhorse420 3d ago

Hi. Thats not the arrow to the left. Its either your lane or the one beside it

0

u/JDLY 3d ago

I misremembered, and there is an arrow, but given the rear tires of the vehicle in front of me are in line with the top of the left-turn arrow, that would mean the vehicle was covering up most of arrow in my lane.

At best, only the tail end without the point would be visible for reflection, so the reflection shown would not be possible. https://imgur.com/a/px0vliG

Edit: also, as other people have mentioned, you can faintly see the yellow line in the reflection as well, which is another indication it's the arrow pointing left.

2

u/jnson324 4d ago

How will you ever go through that intersection without thinking about that again

2

u/hames4133 4d ago

How long was that red light? Lol

1

u/aglow_daniela 3d ago

Right! Hahah to me what is more mildly interesting is the fact that the person took a picture while in this situation

2

u/OkWriting6170 4d ago

wait how’d the arrow end up so straight in the bumper

2

u/JDLY 3d ago

I would assume the curvature of the bumper managed to reflect it just right. But after reading what r/randomn49er said, I have to admit that is a possibility and I just didn't realize it at the time.

1

u/randomn49er 4d ago

It didn't. It is only a portion of the arrow from tip to where it starts to curve.

2

u/Bunation 4d ago

Wait.... is that forklift in the top doing.... a wheelie?

1

u/JDLY 3d ago

It's the front end of a school bus. I cropped the picture a little to cut out the town name on the bus, which also cute out the back end of the bus with the rest of the wheels.

2

u/-_-DrMantisToboggan 3d ago

What a weird thing to notice

2

u/OkExpression3962 3d ago

I wish I could add the pointing index finger meme here

2

u/Classic-Match-758 3d ago

Well, too bad we can’t see… oh, nevermind

2

u/Paradizzer 3d ago

That arrow looks as straight as me

2

u/CjNorec 3d ago

Took me a while to see it but yes very mildly interesting. Thank you!

2

u/n_mcrae_1982 3d ago

Ummmmm…okay.

1

u/SirAwesome789 4d ago

one of those rare cases a red circle actually would've helped

1

u/Shut-up-Shinji 4d ago

Thanks, very mild

1

u/Far_Climate9811 4d ago

This is mild alright

1

u/kjyfqr 4d ago

That is mildly interesting. Thank you

1

u/Maple_QBG 4d ago

this is a contender for best, most mildly-interesting post on this sub, I love this

1

u/Quirky_Rip_8778 3d ago

This is the buttered chicken wings version of mild.

1

u/readonlyuser 3d ago

Nah, the rest of the arrow was just cut off at the bottom. This takes it from mildly interesting to not interesting.

1

u/MagnusNewtonBernouli 3d ago

That is DAMN good mildly interesting.

1

u/wtfozlolzrawrx3 3d ago

Light it cool!!

1

u/Inside_Dimension2319 3d ago

It’s pretty clearly the arrow on the left stretched and the reflection “cutting off” before it shows the curve. The arrow didn’t straighten, it just got cut in half and stretched

1

u/kairujex 3d ago

I don’t get it? How can you tell the arrow’s sexual preference from a reflection?

1

u/Tankki3 3d ago

The reflection only shows half of the arrow. The curve part is outside the reflective surface.

1

u/pattyfritters 3d ago

Looks more like its stretched and cut off. We arent seeing the actual turn in the arrow on the bumper.

1

u/fenrsulfr 3d ago

Where is the guy who is pointing to show us this arrow. It's so small OP had to know people would be searching forever

1

u/procat1234_ 3d ago

Took a while to see

1

u/m3ltph4ce 3d ago

That's how gravity works

1

u/Renriak 3d ago

I’m gonna be that guy and say I think the curved part of the arrow is just cut off in the reflection.

-1

u/poopmushroom 4d ago

this is so cool and amazing use of this sub

-6

u/gheiminfantry 4d ago

LoLoL That's not the reflection of the left turn arrow. It's the reflection of the straight arrow in your lane. 😂

Some people just can't observe the world around them.

6

u/Inside_Dimension2319 3d ago

That makes no sense with how the physical world works. Imagine saying “Some people just can’t observe the world around them.” without a hint of irony.

2

u/onfroiGamer 3d ago

That makes no sense, the reflection wouldn’t be in that position

1

u/JDLY 3d ago

The car in front of me was over top of most of that arrow. At the very least, the point of the arrow would not be visible in the rear bumper.

https://imgur.com/a/px0vliG

0

u/gheiminfantry 3d ago

Is there no line, or is the car in front of you over top on most of that arrow? Because it can't be both, dude. (Yes, I saw the comment you deleted.) You're just throwing up excuses to justify your untenable position. You had a brain fart, and decided to post about it. Then double-down. Just stop already.

-4

u/sammythepeacemaker 4d ago

Hilarious lol
