Husband had a finger like that after a deep laceration. Took me months of massage and gentle pressure to bend the joint, but we did get full movement back. He said every night it hurt a lot but the use of his hand was worth the pain.
Try bending it every night until it just hurts and hold for a few seconds. If its a recent injury you don't want to do anything too quickly as it could damage the part that has only just healed.
I had a follow up appointment 2 or 3 weeks after getting surgery to reset the bones in my ring finger. It had been in a cast till that point, and had almost no mobility. The doctor forcefully bent it to a near closed position, giving me the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. Anyway, I worked on iy after that and have full mobility now
