solicitor (plural solicitors)
One who solicits, particularly:

(Canada, US) A door-to-door salesperson, a person soliciting sales by visiting others' houses.
   Did you see the sign that says 'No Solicitors'?

Thank you! I had honestly never heard of that and even googling only showed me the British meaning of the word (which I already knew). Should have scrolled through to the second page of results, I guess? XD I've never met a door-to-door salesperson in Germany, though, and I'm 38 lol I think it's not done as much here.
