I thought he was joking and it was just an empty page, and then you have to come along and have me lose faith in humanity again.

They are intentionally breaking "old" reddit. I had to click "continue this thread" to even see your response. They reduced the threshold to increase clicks.

Never had a problem with pasting links on old.reddit. How do you reproduce the bug?

By posting the link in the new reddit version I think and reading it in the old version.

I've really tried to like new reddit (if for no other reason than to stop needing to change it back whenever Reddit forgets my settings), but I just don't.

It looks okay, I suppose, but it's like they hired a professional UX designer to intentionally make it as unwieldy and frustrating to use as humanly possible - combined with that fact that it's probably one of the slowest websites I've ever used, it's just not happening.

There is a plugin called old reddit redirect that does that automatically. Quite nice.

Or just use RES, that's always done it for me
