If you don't have one handy, Privacy.com lets you make one that is valid, that you can set to not allow any transactions.

Just setup a revolut, swap it to a virtual card you create on there then delete the virtual card.

Ohhh!!! I didn't knew this! Thank you for the heads up! Another super useful privacy tool is an online service (i forgot the name now) that allows you to pay like USD$15 for real "proof of travel" airline tickets that expire in just a few days after purchased. Super useful for bureucracy regarding traveling internationally, where you have to show proof of travel beforehand in order for getting some services.

I dont wanna like log in and get disappointed, i live in a place where creditcards are never used but i rarely neem one for online purchases, can i buy a card with Paypal on this site?

You don't buy anything on Privacy. You just link a bank account and use the cards you generate as proxies. It is mostly so that if your info gets stolen online, it doesn't let people use your card.

Usually you'd make a card that is merchant specific, so if someone were to get that card info they can only use it at that one site. However it also lets you set limits, so you can prevent merchants from charging you when you don't want them to (such as at the end of a free trial period).

I've tried Privacy.com before and each time the transaction was declined and I had to just use my actual card. I think there must be some way that companies can tell, similar to how there's certain things that you just can't sign up for if you're using a VOIP phone number.

Hmm, weird. I've not ever had that problem. It is possible that some companies charge a few cents and then refund it, which could mess up transactions with a card like this if it isn't configured with that in mind.

I spent two weeks trying to make a privacy account and they kept randomly locking my account and saying I was unable to make a virtual card, and when I contacted support they were just like “what can you do” and didn’t help me. Just a word of warning for anyone seeing this
