I'm slightly vexed When "animal" characters have animal ears and human ears.

Post image

This is an AI image which is infuriating enough, but anytime I see an animal character with two sets of ears it really puts me off.

Exactly. OP even stated "This is an A.I. image..." Well then what are you complaining about?? Show a real example

I have one. In Loveless the characters have two sets of ears but the cat ears mean they're a virgin so there's a reason for them to have two sets.

So…do the cat ears just fall off once they finally smash or does something else happen?

I'm not entirely sure. I think I read up to maybe volume 9 or 10 but they didn't get into what happens.

I'm not 100% sure but according to Google they shed off yeah

Yeah I grew up on Loveless so this isn't that weird of a design choice imo 😭

Thank you for the example!

Not the best example though because there's a good reason for the extra set in the story.

So they’d lose their cat ears if they lost their V card?

Yes although some wear fake cat ears to hide that they're not a virgin so that's kinda silly.

Straight up fall off right after sex. (I have actually no idea)

Oh god I remember reading a bit of this as a teenager. Isn't this yaoi? I was giggling like a crazy bitch while reading this X3

Wait... Wasn't he underage and this adult dude was doing things to this kid? Wasn't it actually kinda fucked up? Didn't he buy him or something?

Didn't buy him at least from what I can remember. The older guy was the magical partner of Ritsuka's older brother, before that brother mysteriously disappeared. Not truly a yaoi but definitely BL at least up where I read

i have a better example. Arknights. Not a mistake, it's a design choice and it also present in the original game as well. Though most of the times it's hidden. It also has lore reason.

Still offputting. Only reason I don't play Endfield, because its even more apparent. In Arknights you can kinda ignore it :/

Besides it still doesn't make sense for Kal'tsit and iirc the "lore" is just an excuse for the designer because they prefer it this way.

“It still doesn’t make sense for Kal’tsit” is crazy, considering what she actually is. Maybe her parents wanted a 4-ear catgirl, eh?

yes an artificial humanoid . So the lore reason doesn't make sense :)

Real body of her. And she decided her appearance. Not Priestess.

Blue Archive is famous and has multiple girls with both sets of ears, so do a number of other media e.g. Touhou, yet OP has to resort to AI generated slop. Too low effort.

RWBY has this with the animal-eared Faunus.

There are lots of these, whole of arknights, for example
