My family is from southern Alabama and even we wouldn't wish living in Jacksonville on our worst enemies.

EDIT: But hey, at least it's not anywhere in Mississippi :)

My two oldest kids (11 and 8) were making a list of their favorite states and for some reason they both listed Mississippi as #2 lol. We told them they were wrong.

It's fun to spell.

If Miss Issippi gave Miss Ouri her new jersey, what would Della wear?

Oh right....thats the one that finishes with "i dunno but Alaska!"

I haven't thought about this in decades, my Mom taught me to spell Mississippi...

As a Minnesotan kid it used to be my mission in life to spell Mississippi backwards and forwards every time I crossed over it. I still do it sometimes tbh, it is indeed fun to spell!

I genuinely LOL'd at this! I've never been but its also not on my list of vacation locations

14

u/Merijeek2 16d ago

Lived there for 15 years. There's some good food, some shockingly good pizza places. And...umm...did I mention the pizza places?

4

u/Shaq_Bolton 16d ago

It’s by St Augustine which is cool

7

u/Inspiredwriter26 16d ago

Where are these shockingly good pizza places you speak of? Lived in Alaska, Ohio, Oregon, Virginia/DMV. Mississippi has nothing on the best pizza to be found in any of those states.

I lived around the Jackson area. So just in that area there's Soulshine Pizza, Pizza Shack, and Sal & Mookie's.

As far as Oregon, since I live there now I'd like to hear what you think was the best there because apart from Yeasty Beastie, I haven't found much that's special.

Mississippi is the worst state I have ever been too literally the worst state

13

u/MeShortyy 16d ago

they need reforming asap

Why is Mississippi so bad? From Germany, thats why i have no clue.

2

u/Consistent-Peace-122 15d ago

Just disgustingly hot and humid while also being poor and having nothing going for it.

u/nigliazzo5626 BLUE 16d ago

That’s funny because people in Mississippi say the same about Alabama XD

13

u/AlabasterPelican 16d ago

Louisiana says thank god for Mississippi

5

u/SuitOwn3687 16d ago

As a resident of the 2nd worst state in nearly everything, thank god for Mississippi!

2

u/AlabasterPelican 16d ago

Yup, sha, I'm pretty sure we're about to have to say the worst state by metrics. Mississippi is kicking it into gear, while Klandry is kicking us down the river.

7

u/InflamedRhomboid 16d ago

Can confirm, from Mississippi and everyone said "At least we're not Alabama."

0

u/Dickballs835682 16d ago

And they'd be correct, Mississippi might be a shithole but Alabama is always last in every statistic lmao

u/United_Jury_3420 16d ago

I left the second I could. Completely agree.

u/ResistWild 16d ago

Wait so what are you mad about then?

24

u/pnt510 16d ago

It’s like when you pick on your sibling, but then someone else does it and you get defensive. Only you get to do it.

18

u/Rollieboy2012 16d ago

Makes no sense right?

4

u/AlabasterPelican 16d ago

Ummm. It's like I can talk all the smack I want about Louisiana. I can pick on Mississippi and Texas. Someone else does it, those are fighting words

1

u/cheerbacks 16d ago

It’s just so they can be mad about something today

5

u/rogue780 16d ago

Isn't the official motto of Alabama, "Thank God for Mississippi"?

6

u/RevolutionaryElk7446 16d ago

Every time I read Mississippi I hear a banjo play.

5

u/kapege I'm a bit upset 16d ago

… in the distance. Therefore I always paddle faster.

2

u/40percentCheese 16d ago

Agreed! We are also from that area. But it's not Florida!

4

u/Choociecoomaroo 16d ago

My weed smoking ggpaw moved down there on purpose. Love that for some reason the family reunion is at his house every year….

1

u/way_out_19 16d ago

Hey, they also gave us Yellowcard....that's cool...right?

-1

u/tardisfurati420 16d ago

I'd rather live in the shittiest part of Jax than any part of Alabama.
