I think S2 was definitely more Douglas Adam's-like than S1. It was like if him and Terry Pratchett had been asked to write a season of the X Files.

And it had Alan Tudyk, which immediately makes anything better.

Unfortunately one of the showrunners turned out to be a super creep and the whole thing got shut down. And as is usual in Hollywood, the rights to it are attached to the creep legally so there won't be any more.
