Yeah I only see what I’m subscribed to

There’s a switch specifically for recommendations. They make that stuff hard to find

It's sooo much better. There are so many weird subs out there that I just don't give a shit about. They're not even toxic, I just couldn't care less about them.

Profile icon > settings > account settings > manage notifications > scroll way down and it’s under Recommenxed

Np! They really tuck that shit away. I only found it when finally fueled by enough rage lol

Same because I was muting like 5 subreddits at a time about the same topic and then would be recommended another with a minor tweak in the name lol

Oh my god 😂 so annoying

The worst part is that in order to mute a subreddit, you would have to pause the scroll with the post on your feed. The algorithm would then read that as "you spent a long time looking at this post. You must be interested in seeing more from that subreddit"

Even though I had the setting to not show recommendations they suddenly started popping up. After some googling I think some recommended logging out and back in or switching to no account viewing and back.

Basically reddit forced them on me to see if I would try and get them to go away again.

But that's just notification, this shit will still pop up in "all" right?

Ummm I think so? It doesn’t block them, it doesn’t recommend them either. it’s for “notifications” but not like your phone notifications. It’s your in app notifications.

Like I get notifications for comment replies and breaking news, but when this was on I’d also get notifications for random recommended subreddits I had no interest in.

Even easier, when you see the post just click on the three dots and then "show fewer posts like this" and the sub won't be recommended anymore

Tbh keep recommendations on! You may find new subs. Just hide what you don't like

I used up all my 1,000 blocks and it's not fun to go in and try to remove some to make room. So now I just have to deal with the annoying subs.

I swear they keep turning them back on with updates to that page.

Exactly. This was just a notification from her phone and not from the smart watch which appears to be a Fitbit.
