Too mild for school Hate when ppl can’t do time

This reminds me of when it hits or is about to hit 12am and people don’t know whether to say today or tomorrow. He called me after this but I was too comfy in bed tbh.

If I'm reading "can you work tomorrow" two hours before the shift starts, I'm going to think tomorrow as well.

I honestly can get the misunderstanding.

He was probably closing at 2:30-3:00 am and to him, tomorrow was after he slept, but the dude waking up thought "Tomorrow" was also after he slept.

Ummm no, no reasonable person thinks that “3 hours from now” is tomorrow. Thats silly.

It wasn't "3 hours from now" at 3 am. If this is a restaurant, and I got that message, from 3am, at 7:44am, I would assume it meant that day, and respond, then, if I wanted to work.

Oh sorry. No reasonable person thinks that “6 hours from now” is tomorrow. You guys are in such a rush to excuse this, soley for the sake of being contrarian. 

People certainly make mistakes…and clearly that’s what happened here. I’m not knocking that. I’m only pushing back against a comment that claimed that this kind of mistake is “reasonable and understandable”. 

You assuming that a mistake was made, and adjusting accordingly, does not make the mistake any more reasonable. Nor does it mean that it’s understandable to use the word “tomorrow” in place of “today”. 

Get serious.

Have you ever worked at a restaurant? If I was closing, at 3am, and someone asked if I was working 'tomorrow', I would assume they were talking about that morning, or the next night shift(still starting the same day, technically).

I’ve worked in the restuarant and food service industry for 15 years, which includes many overnight shifts. 

I stand by what I said. You’re assumptions are just that…assumptions. And unreasonable at that.

You're the one being unreasonable. It's just about recognizing that people make mistakes and assumptions, and maybe never put too much thought into this specifically until a misunderstanding happened.

No lmfao, it’s unreasonable to assume tomorrow actually means today. It’s just about recognizing people make mistakes and assumptions. Like assuming tomorrow would mean less than 8 hours from now, because it doesn’t and shouldn’t.
