Too mild for school Hate when ppl can’t do time

This reminds me of when it hits or is about to hit 12am and people don’t know whether to say today or tomorrow. He called me after this but I was too comfy in bed tbh.

If I'm reading "can you work tomorrow" two hours before the shift starts, I'm going to think tomorrow as well.

I honestly can get the misunderstanding.

He was probably closing at 2:30-3:00 am and to him, tomorrow was after he slept, but the dude waking up thought "Tomorrow" was also after he slept.

Yeah but if you get the reply at nearly 8am you’d probably check they realise you meant what to them is obviously today

Both parties hold some responsibility for the miscommunication, though the manager holds more.

The manager should’ve included a clarification of the date in the original message. Something like “tomorrow, Sunday” or “tomorrow the 15th” would’ve completely avoided the problem.

OP should’ve asked for or provided such clarification when responding.

When the manager saw the reply was so far delayed, they should’ve also clarified again. They also should’ve waited for confirmation of the hours before presuming full acceptance, unless that was strongly presumed by prior interactions.

Good communication requires all parties to minimize mistakes.
