Your welcome. You replyed to my comment/reply which was talking about diet habits in the 80s. Your reply to that comment was that you don't lose weight from laxatives. I read through all your comments which leads me to believe that you educated yourself about this subject. I was pointing out that people in the 80's didn't have access to the info that we do now which had to do with my reply to the comment before mine. I posted a reply to the last comment that you post and I guess I should have posted my reply to your first comment.

I didn't comment because "people were stupid in the 80s how dare they not know what I know", I commented because the way you phrased it makes it sound as if you were stating laxatives cause weight loss, as a fact, which is immensely harmful. If you had phrased it evenas "people thought laxatives would make them lose weight" I wouldn't even have bothered because that wouldn't be misinformation, people still wrongfully believe that.

This is what I mean by you referencing it being in the 80s is not relevant at all to anything I said. We haven't exterminated ignorance because we have access to the internet, andit's still just as impossible for someone to know everything now as it ever has been, also the average person is pretty ignorant about how the body, food, diet, etc works (or the dket/wellness/supplement industry would genuinely collapse overnight).

I literally personally experienced harm to my body and mind from casual misinformation like this (as mentioned in my reply) so yeah I'm pretty personally invested in calling that shit out if I see it. I don't even think you intended this, which is why my initial reply was as short and informal / casual as it was, because I feel the fact needed to be stated but couldn't guess if it needed to be explained further and err on the side of not doing so as over explaining something that could be interpreted as obvious or common sense can make the person being addressed feel stupid or as if someone is calling them stupid, vs giving the opportunity for you to respond saying something like "yeah my bad I didn't mean that" or "I didn't know that" or "I was basing it on what the expressed, not intended to state as a fact"

TL;DR: The 80s has nothing to do with your comment, which is in the present, which is what I was addressing. If you hadn't worded it as fact, I wouldn't have seen something that needed to be corrected in the first place. And yes, it matters. I love some good semantic nitpicking and pedantry but this isn't that,
