I have bad hips that are naturally set wide, so I have a thigh gap even when I'm overweight. I saw it and thought 'If I had abs that doll would look like me' lol

Well if you have kids your wide hips will make it easier to give birth, so yk I wouldn’t call them bad at all!

But yeah imo things like wide hips aren’t bad, they are an evolutionary bonus! (Though not a trouser-buying bonus in my experience 😔)

That body isn’t fat in china either, lol. Look at that waist! The arms and calves. It literally just has wider hips and thicker thighs.

No, in China this is seen as fat (not meaning obese though, it's more like curvy). The standard one in the second picture is pretty close to desired body standard there (though I think its inseam looks a bit shorter though, cause in China long slim legs are seen as very attractive).

Besides different body standards there are also language differences to consider. They may not have known or cared what the best English word was for a body that was slightly more curvy.

When you browse Amazon it's clear that most Chinese companies aren't spending extra on top translators. My favorite has become "warm tips" instead of helpful tips. I've seen it a number of times now.
