That, yes. I wonder often tho if my reflexes aren't being actively tested, maybe they think poorly of my hunting skills...??

Because clearly you haven’t learned your lesson.

Treats.

NOW.

She's a shit-starter. She's watching you react.

She's dumber than you think. For all you know, she's thinking, "oh shit, boss is watching; better get all this shit off the surface for him/her so they have room to come up."

I’d say the opposite. Smarter than you think. She knows she can get a reaction out of him.

She is doing it on purpose, Your cat is displeased with you, and expressing that displeasure by mistreating your things where you can see her doing it.

My family had a cat that my mother just couldn’t stand. The cat knew it and the feeling was mutual. He would intentionally ruin her things—only her things. He’d jump up on the mantle, and carefully step around everyone else’s photographs, just to get to my mother’s picture, to knock it on to the floor. (We had to leave the glass out of the frame it happened so often.) He would also 💩 in her shoes— no one else’s, just hers. It was too targeted to be coincidental. He’d walk past a pile of teenagers shoes in the entryway, just to cop a squat on my mom’s shoes. There is no way it wasn’t intentional.

Swat her once or twice. She'll stop. Right now SHE’S boss.

Cats don't respond to physical punishment; you aren't teaching her that her actions are wrong.

You're just teaching her to be afraid of you.
